I'm a fan of most flowers, but I think I was a sunflower in a past life. 🌻
There's something about them that makes me feel like I'm hanging out with my best friend. They're bright and happy, a little wild, and somehow manage to make everything around them feel warmer. Maybe it's because they bloom at the tail end of summer, when the days are still long and golden, but there's already that little hint that the season won't last forever.
They feel nostalgic to me. They remind me of warm afternoons, open windows with my friends gathered around, no technology in sight, making our own fun and our biggest worry being cleaning up after supper. Those simple moments that somehow become the memories you carry with you for years. They have this way of making me feel both completely present and transported somewhere familiar at the same time.
I think that's what I love most about them. They feel like happiness you can remember.
So naturally, I had to turn one into stained glass. 🌻 It’s designed to sit in the corner of your window, where it warms the space up and catches the light just right. It looks SOOOOO good in the golden hour. It was made for golden hour. That’s why I waited for this evening for this golden hour shot.
This one holds a little piece of that feeling for me: the warmth of summer, the beauty of things that don't last forever, and all those wonderful memories that seem to come back whenever I see a sunflower.
