A big thank you to .inc for having us this weekend at the ‘Learn to Turkey Hunt 101’.

We can’t thank you enough for making us feel so welcome, and for sharing your knowledge and skills. We loved the laughter, and for how all the instructors cared so deeply about safety, respect for the animals, respect for the land, and respect for our neighbours.

Also, a big thank you to all our library friends who attended, and braved it out in the rain!!!

What an amazing day!!!!!

We’ve got some events coming up and requests for Outdoor Winter gear and apparel!

Normally we want to make sure that community based organizations get the support they need for coats, hats, mitts, etc. (please give generously to if you can). But the biggest request we get is support with snow pants to help facilitate the winter activities we all love.

We’ve got a gap in our inventory of large snow pants for adults. And we’re calling on you to help fill that gap.

Send us a DM if you have any to donate or a source for low cost options. Even better if drop off can happen before this weekends Ice Climbing event.

Grateful for this community as always!

The T-shirt is going otherworldly!
🪐
Not really. But how cool is it that Shan travelled to California and basically recreated a scene from Dune. It’s like she’s ready to hop on the back of a SANDWORM in the mythical desert planet of Arrakis- any Dune fans out there? 🪱

Where have you adventured recently? Even if it was your own backyard! Let us know in the comments!

The next Artist Series workshop with .art is coming in hot 🔥 tickets on sale Wednesday (June 12) at 6pm.

Introducing Barkat. A Nature Art Series hosted by local artist Nimra Bandukwala (she/her) deep in the cedar forest in Guelph.

If you missed the first few or simply want to continue the fun…Workshop 4 of 5 (only one more to come) introduces participants to natural inks.

Join us to create a variety of natural inks using colours from the land. Cultures around the world have rich histories and stories related to colour as part of rituals and everyday life. In this workshop we will dive into stories and folklore around colour. You will learn how to safely and ethically forage for berries, nuts, and plants, as well as using kitchen waste to create a rainbow of natural colours. We will experiment with adding modifiers to expand colour palettes. We will play with natural inks to create postcard paintings.

PRIDE
a commitment to resist and rebel
to protest where there is no peace
to meet longing with expansive love
to heal heartache with hope
to cultivate joy by way of justice
to find beauty in differences
and seek life in harmony
as a practice, not just
an ideal

Sending love to our 2SLGBTQIA+ siblings. May you be proud of the beauty you offer this world, and may we work together to make this world one worthy of our pride…Not a single one us left in the shadows.

ALERT 🚨 Tickets on sale Thursday June 30 at 6pm EST - mark your calendars as limited spots are available.

Introducing Barkat. A Nature Art Series hosted by local artist Nimra Bandukwala (she/her) deep in the cedar forest in Guelph.

If you missed the first two last year or simply want to continue the fun…Workshop 3 of 5 (two more to come) introduces participants to miniature worlds.

In this workshop, we will explore places in nature that give us comfort, whether it’s a place from our childhood, a place that we visit frequently, or land that we tend. We will creatively reflect upon place through writing and drawing. We will transform our ideas into a miniature world through play with materials from the land.

RESISTANCE TO COLONIALISM IS POSSIBLE WHEN WE PITCH OUR TENTS TOGETHER!

We stand in solidarity with the student-led movement for Palestine and their urgent calls to end the genocide.

Indigenous and racialized youth have always been at the forefront of change, from Turtle Island to Palestine to Congo to Sudan. The youth, both in their homelands and in the diaspora, are demanding that we learn from the past so that they can have the futures they inherently deserve.

We encourage our community to hold our youth with care in the face of escalating harm and do our part to disrupt the normalization of violence in response to their advocacy, and activism.
