Walk through Trench Town in Kingston, Jamaica with me as a 300+ lb girl.
As a teenager, I was always afraid to travel because of my weight. I worried about how much space I took up instead of dreaming about how much of the world I could see.
Then I became a mom, & something shifted. I started seeing the beauty in the body that carried my babies, the love that created our little family, & the incredible world waiting for us beyond Canada.
Now I want to take up space everywhere. On planes, in new cities, across new countries, & in every beautiful memory we get to make along the way.
No trending audio, no soundtrack… just the sounds of the community, a glimpse into a place with so much history, culture & influence.
Trench Town is known around the world for its connection to reggae & some of Jamaica’s most influential artists, but being here in person gives you a completely different perspective.
Sometimes travel isn’t about resorts & picture-perfect views.
Sometimes it’s about walking through a community, listening, learning, & seeing a side of a country you might not otherwise experience.
