Artist BIO:
Lee Leonard has been a painter in oils for 60 years and a monotype printmaker for 30 years. She was trained at the Vesper George Art School in Boston, Massachusetts, and was mentored by Cape Cod artist Henry Hensche. She later learned printmaking at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Her work varies from representational still-life landscapes to abstract impressionism. Her work has been shown consistently in galleries and small museums in the New England area and, in recent years, been featured in Antigonish, Guysborough, and Halifax.

Artist STATEMENT:
“Since moving to Nova Scotia in 2006, I have been in love with the colours of the sky, trees, rocks, beaches, and seawater. I am fortunate to live on the shore of Chedabucto Bay, which is a constant inspiration. Each day, chance offers a new palette of colours."

We’re excited to be sponsoring two creative drop-ins next week as part of Good Karma Handmade Goods & Art’s Wednesday Wellness Days at the Cast Away Cafe . This includes the Wellness Wall Project hosted by Cairista MacIsaac and an Empower Your Crown workshop facilitated by Kathy Gosbee as part of the Emancipation celebrations in Guysborough put on by the Emancipation Committee. Both drop-ins are open to all ages!

Christine Bray will be at the Festival Savalette Artisan Market this Saturday, August 8th from 10am to 12:30pm with some Acadian themed lobster rope creations, including the ones featured here!

The market will be held at the Communities Along the Bay Multi-Use Facility in Larry’s River. Stop by to browse local handcrafted work and celebrate Acadian heritage. ⭐️🇫🇷❤️
