Putting the studio back together after returning back from Fergus Fibre Festival this weekend.

Did you know that you can visit us in person at our studio in Haliburton, Ontario?

Our shop is open most M-Fs from 10 am to 5 pm. Check our studio calendar on our website for any known closures.

Our next in person is on Sat. June 6 at the Stockey Centre in Parry Sound for the Sound of Fibre Fest

We had a great time today and are going home wet and cold but happy. Thank you to everyone who braved the difficult conditions and to the volunteers and organizers for trying to make the best of things.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to dye?

Join us for a week in July or August this summer for Stained Fingers Dye Camp! In this adult focused camp, learn yarn and fabric dyeing techniques in a small group setting in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands

Classes are organized to suit the individual needs of each student, allowing you to learn a wide variety of techniques over the course of the week. Techniques may include kettle dyeing, immersion dyeing, hand painting, speckles, self-striping yarns, gradient dyeing and more!

Introducing…Platypus Buddy Kits!

Platypus Buddy Kits are 2-skein sets of Platypus Sock, with one fun skein being dyed in a light colour underwash and four variegated colour accents, paired with a semisolid skein of one of the colour accents used in the variegated process that’ll play well with its variegated buddy!

Since they’re done up in Platypus Sock, they’re prefect for projects that need some added toughness like socks or mitts - for funsies, one could knit up a pair of socks with the variegated colour as the body & the semisolid for the heels & toes, then switch it up and do another pair but with the semisolid as the main colour!

Another option would be a 2-skein shawl; here’s a few pattern suggestions:
