Wild Witch Potager

October is here, and the garden is starting to slow down. We are cutting the last of the herbs to hang and dry, picking apples and rose hips, and getting ready for the first frost.

It is the month for staying in a little more, lighting a candle a little earlier each evening, and letting the season settle in.

What are you looking forward to most this month? Tell us in the comments.

Our Bee-Witched lip balm is formulated with pure, soothing botanicals to keep your lips soft, hydrated, and protected against the upcoming winter season.

We use our own calendula-infused oils in our lip balms because calendula petals contain active natural compounds that reduce swelling, fight microbes, and help repair damaged skin tissue.

Made in small batches right here in our studio, Bee-Witched is a simple way to add
magic to your day.

Recently I travelled to France where I was delighted to present a special bespoke candle to my friends who call the stunning Château de Roumégouse their home in Rignac, France.

To create this scent, I drew upon the history of the château, French
heritage, and local botanicals.

Creating a blend worthy of a French château was a dream come true.

Un peu de magie across the ocean.

A nocturnal garden where flowers and fireflies glow under the stars.

Midnight in the Potager is a sophisticated fragrance with bergamot and apple top notes and a heart of cassis and persimmon. This scent captures the quiet magic of the potager after the world has gone to sleep.

Orange peel, cinnamon bark, star anise, rosemary, water to cover. Lowest heat, all afternoon.

The equinox falls on September 22. This is how we mark it at home.

Infusing oils with the powerful properies of herbs is an ancient tradition, but it persists today because natural is always best. This is the behind the scenes that can’t be rushed. It takes work, patience, wisdom to make things the “old-way” and that’s how we do it here at the Potager.

Whimsy is the new chic.

Slow, seasonal, and made by hand in Nova Scotia. None of it efficient. All of it on purpose.
