Friendly reminder that our LAST DAY in our original Summit St location is this Sunday August 9th!

After that, we’ll be closing for a week to move, and reopening in our new location on Saturday August 15th ✨

This little blue house has served us well over the past (almost) 4 years 🥲 it feels bittersweet but we’re definitely ready for this change! Make sure to come say one last goodbye to the original Fia Fia this weekend 🥹🫶

PLEASE NOTE: Online orders made during the week of our move (Monday August 10 - Sunday August 16) will not be fulfilled until the following Monday August 17th at the absolute earliest! We thank you for all your patience while we go through this big transition ❤️

We’re so very excited to be adding Biches & Bûches to our brand lineup 🥹🫶

We’re bringing in Le Petite Lambswool (fingering/sport), Le Lambswool (DK), and Le Gros Lambswool (worsted/aran) - for our grand reopening at our new location in richmondyards on August 15th!

All these yarns are made from the first shearing of fleece from lambs raised all over Scotland and England. It’s the softest cut from a sheep that you can get. The yarn is then milled in Scotland using traditional spinning equipment and techniques.

If you love real wool, and you know how special lambswool is, this is definitely the yarn for you ❤️

Available in-store at the opening of our new location on Saturday August 15th, or online the following Monday 17th ✨

Yes you’re reading that right - we’re finally announcing our official move to Richmond Yards!

Our grand reopening of Fia Fia will be Saturday August 15th from 10am to 5pm! Come say hi and check out our new space!

This also means that our LAST DAY at our original Summit St location will be next Sunday August 9th. We’ll be open 12-5 as usual, and after that the original shop will be officially closed. Make sure you come say goodbye to the little blue house 🥲

We’ve also had a lot of questions about parking, so we’ve made a little map for you! There’s tons of great parking around the Richmond Yards complex, plus there’s even a shortcut walking path through Gladstone Street now ✨

Finally we just wanted to thank you all for your patience. We’ve been working so hard on the new space making sure it’s exactly what we want. And we’re so excited to share it with you all! See you soon ❤️

If you’re a Petiteknit fan, we’ve got some exciting news for you…

We’re going to be bringing in lots of Petiteknit notions and tools for our move to richmondyards! This will include her needle cases, stitch markers, labels, as well as the lovely metal zippers she uses for some of her zipper patterns, and much more! We’ll also carry a collection of fan-favourite patterns from her 🫶

Our new Petiteknit products will launch during our grand reopening once we move to our new location - big news on that coming very very soon 👀

Things are coming together at the new shop ❤️

Some of you may be surprised at the change in aesthetic for the new space - the truth is it was always our dream to have a yarn shop that felt like a heritage building. For this new iteration of Fia Fia, we’re choosing darker woods, moodier vibes, heritage colours. Think old Victorian apothecary ✨

We’re working as hard as we can around-the-clock to get the new location ready. We don’t have an opening date quite yet, but we’re aiming for early August! We can’t wait for you all to see it in-person 🥹

Another thing we wanted to do for our relocation was bring in some more yarns from brands we already know and love 😍

For example, we’re very excited to start carrying Jensen and Boucle from Isageryarn!

Jensen is a beautiful and lightweight DK yarn, perfect for sweaters, accessories, homewares, colourwork, cables - you name it! It’ll definitely become your new favourite go-to 👌

And unlike lots of boucle yarns on the market that have synthetics in them, Isager’s Boucle is 100% alpaca! Lovely both on its own or held with other yarns, Boucle adds a really fun texture to your knits, while also adding softness like a mohair would!

You’ll be able to shop these new Isager yarns in-store upon our reopening date, which is still TBA 👀 keep your eyes peeled for announcements on that!

Say hello to Fia Fia’s first employee Lina! 🥹✨

After almost 4 years in business, we decided it was time for some help 😅 We’re super excited to be welcoming Lina to our small team, and we can’t wait for you all to get to know her too!

Lina (she/her) learned to knit at her friends knitting party in 2011. She was immediately hooked and went out and bought a ball of yarn and some needles the very next day. She loves to play with colourwork of all kinds, stranded, mosaic, marling, you name it! Selecting colours, seeing patterns emerge, and yarn management are some of her favourite aspects to knitting colourwork projects. She will also always have a pair of socks on the needles and loves to knit silly little things. She loves animals (especially cats), flowers, puzzles, thrifting, and snow!

If you also like puzzles, check out her IG

We have De Rerum Natura’s newest Antigone colours in stock!

Meet Bronze, Parchemin, Pain D’épices, and Zéphyr - four gorgeous additions to the Antigone collection.

And a little PSA: Antigone is made from flax grown in Normandy. Meaning that the amount of Antigone available each year is dependant on that season’s flax yields. De Rerum will not be restocking this yarn until next spring 2027. So if you want to use Antigone this summer, now is your chance!
