The Raven Project
Representing my time here in Victoria, the Raven is a symbol of transformation, rebirth and starting anew. It's also a messenger connecting our world with the spirit world, enabling stronger insight and intuition.
I started this bead project just after I learned to bead in 2020. This was just after COVID began.
Before this I had just left the Midwifery Program at UBC after dreaming about going for many years, and moving to BC to do so. It's no easy task getting into the program and I felt so accomplished being accepted. Then throughout my first semester something changed within me and I realized this program wasn't my destiny. And it broke my heart to leave.
I felt lost and hopeless with no direction. As scary as it was, it was my time to start over, find myself in a way I never let myself before.
And it has been a beautiful journey.
Recently I felt a divine pull to finish this project and I knew that my time with the Raven totem was coming to a close... And here she is, after nearly 3 years.
I don't know what's coming for me next, but the unknown doesn't scare me, not as much as it used to.. Raven taught me that. I feel secure and trust in myself and the creators wisdom.
