Join us at Glitter Bean Cafe to watch “You Got To Move” (1985, 1h38m) where we can take inspiration from the radical ways marginalized folks have gathered against systemic racism. We look forward to celebrating May Day with you, May 1st from 6-8pm.

WE ARE ALL WE HAVE

Day in and day out we are bombarded with the continual reminder that the state does not actually care about the people. Our government cuts social programs & underfunds the arts while they fund a g3n0c1d3 abroad and increase funding to our own state thugs whose main purpose is to criminalize poverty and target Black & Indigenous communities. We watch as the elite commit atrocities with impunity and politicians flap their jaws with false promises. We are no longer susceptible to the lies of late stage capitalism, and we refuse to be okay with the crumbs dropped at our feet. “WE ARE ALL WE HAVE” is a rallying cry to each other - a reminder that our survival depends on us building interdependent systems of care. We invite you to join us, and each other. Because we are all we have. As always, this event is by donation (pay what you choose) at the door - no one gets turned away for lack of funds. JTF Zines will be available by donation.

Jump the Fence is a collective effort because none of us can do this alone. We are a constellation of our own making and the community we build together is alchemic. Collectively we can transmute our reality. Come help us open a portal on the cusp of the longest night. Our events are an opportunity to connect, our publications are intentionally sedition. It is integral as artists to remind each other that we have a responsibility to the people who co-create the dance floors we orchestrate. We are here to invoke critical thinking and to spark a dream of something different - something new and something old. This is the push and pull to inject ourselves within a current that has been flowing long before our time.

“The Dancefloor is Political” is a reclamation; it is a way to actively subvert the boring and harmful idea that rave culture is purely about escape. We dance together to build community, to reclaim our bodies, and to remember that collectively WE have the power - we do not ask permission to move, to connect, to heal. It is integral as artists to remind each other that we have a responsibility to the people who co-create the dance floors we orchestrate. On Saturday, September 6th, 2025 we invite you to join us for Kjipuktuk/Halifax’s 8th Annual Anarchist Bookfair to convene, scheme & dream a liberated world together. All ages are welcome to come cultivate curiosity, solidarity & mutual aid through sharing books, zines, art, music, discussion, and skills!

With each passing day, our lives are further controlled by power structures that subjugate our bodies and land in service of profit. Our social lives have become confined by tech billionaires who horde our data and manipulate our behaviour to train Al.

Our alienation from the natural world has become normalized as it crumbles beneath our feet. As the rearing heads of fascism strobe across the doomscroll, we are reminded that now, as always, is the time for anarchism.

Anarchism is not merely a reaction to fascism or capitalist power structures — it invites us to imagine a world, imagine our lives, free of coercion. When much of the public is being swindled into pro-‘Canadian’ rhetoric & consumerism here on stolen land, we as anarchists remain staunchly opposed to nationalism.

We see nationalism as a tool of colonialism and capitalism to keep us from seeing the lies behind their facade. We dedicate our lives not to individual wealth & economic progress but to responsible interdependence, solidarity & self determination. We find meaning in exploring our collective dreams of liberation.

As our world continues on a disturbing & overwhelming trajectory of extraction, displacement & genocide, with anarchism we can ride this sh*tstorm together with integrity and resolve.
