The delivery and installation of this wedding cake was an unforgettable experience. 🤍

Created for our lovely couple, Ainsley and Alec, this opulent 7-tier, 6-foot Lambeth-piped masterpiece was intricately detailed from top to bottom.

The family came to us inspired by the extraordinary work of French cake designer Bastien Blanc-Tailleur. From that inspiration, we developed our own design, layering elaborate borders, swags, scrolls and shells in royal icing, with intricate overpiping inspired by masters of the craft like Eddie Spence, Joseph Lambeth and contemporary artist Susan Trianos.

Bringing a cake of this scale to life was ambitious. It required extra vehicles, extra hands and plenty of careful planning, including a venue walkthrough the day before and hours of finishing and installation on-site. We will share more BTS in the next video.

A true labour of love, and one we’ll never forget.

A couple of weeks ago we welcomed students into our cake studio for a Vintage Gingham Cake Class, where they learned to create a smooth finish using Swiss meringue buttercream, pipe vintage-inspired borders, and apply our signature gingham pattern technique. 🤍
