Black Market Boutique “What an awesome shop” since 1986 The Black Market Boutique has been a Halifax institution for 35 years! Walking into our shop is an experience just on it's own!

It has the feel of stepping into another world, as each year, we travel directly to and hand pick our goods from India, Nepal, Bali, Thailand, and occasionally Turkey, Peru, Ecuador & Mexico. Traveling ourselves to do our purchasing not only helps us maintain very fair prices for you! It also insures a level of quality you can't get through ordering from a catalog or online. We take care to buy beautiful, handmade, quality things from people we trust, where we can often see how and where things are being made, and more importantly, who is making them. We care a great deal about people, and community, and our shop supports over 20 families directly in these countries, on top of the family businesses we buy from, as well as a dozen or so organizations both locally and globally. If you're wondering what you might find in our shop, here are just some of the things we stock regularly:
An abundance of fun jewelry, including sterling silver, semi precious stone, brass, wood and beaded. Fantastic accessories like clutches, purses, wallets and backpacks. Clothing, classic & stylish dresses, tops & pants in the spring and summer, to scarves, shawls and jackets in the fall, to wool sweaters, socks, hats, mitts and booties in the winter. We also have a huge selection of natural incense, and a lovely array of home decor, such as duvet covers, cushions in various shapes and sizes, tapestries, bedspreads, table cloths, mirrors, masks and wood carved boxes, Buddhas, animals and various figures. As well as a very fun selection of hand painted and hand felted kids toys and mobiles. We even have the sweetest Christmas ornaments around come the Holiday season! We are only ever striving to bring you better and more unique things, from good sources, with everyone we serve in mind. We are the Black Market Boutique, Bought & Sold with Heart.
