✨CALL FOR ENTRY✨ For our winter feature, Small Wonders, Verve invites artists across all mediums to reimagine the seasonal ornament. We are seeking non-functional hanging or tabletop objects that explore themes of winter light, memory, structure, and the personal keepsake.

We encourage artists to bring their distinct studio practice to a smaller scale. We are looking for objects meant to be brought out year after year, those with enduring value: meaningful objects created to hold space, catch light, and mark the season.

Note: We warmly welcome artists to share symbols and expressions rooted in their own lived culture and heritage, while asking that all submissions respect cultural integrity.

🪨 DARREN EMENAU 🪨 Ceramics that emerge from unharnessed and playful exploration of form and material. Captivated by New Brunswick’s rugged coastline since childhood, his vessels and sculptural forms create a tactile horizon. Each form with its own unique, stratified surface treatment.

Come and see the vibrant colours and unique surfaces for yourself. You will be very tempted to touch! 🫆🫆🫆

🧵RILLA MARSHALL🧵handwoven cotton, painted warp with some weft inlay.
A glimpse into Rilla Marshall fascinating process. Her 🌅 Shorescape Series 🌅 thoughtfully brings to life the reality of the environmental impact on the shrinking cliffs of PEI. She uses a combination of a painted warp and weft inlay, to create a ghostly reminder of what once was.
In the ☁️ Cloud Series ☁️ she dives deep into explorating the structure of weaving. Playing with print registration, through stencil painted warp, stripes and twill she carefully constructs these images using cross-hatching, colour theory and light/ dimension.

Cloud Series and Shorescape Series. Now available. DM for details.
