I spent yesterday evening making friends with friendship cups at the Toronto Woodturners Guild TWG. They were such a wonderful and engaging bunch of folks. Lots of great questions and no shortage of talent either! Also, it was my first time turning on carpet and I gotta say, I kinda dig it!!
Huge thanks to Anastasia for inviting me, Will for all his help as well as these great pics and all the other members who helped make it a fun night!!

I spent a few minutes this morning and cleaned up the cup I turned, no sanding or finish, just a bit of chisel work. Made from red oak so it's not going to hold water..

I just got to spend the day with these incredible folks!!! If you don't know who they are they're the wonderful family behind , Bill, Chantelle and Celine. They invited me to demonstrate turning a flat bottom bowl for one of their demo days at the store. Despite the dreary weather there was a really great turnout, some good food and some wonderful company. Lots of folks from my guild were there to show their support as well as quite a few friendly and familiar faces. I know I had a great time and I think Bill enjoyed his new bowl. Just wanted to extend a huge thank you to the amazing folks at William Wood-Write and all of the wonderful folks who turned out to make it a fun event.

This one is for Kimberly and all of the tool nerds 🤓 who keep asking about my mini and micro tools. They're mostly repurposed bits and pieces but hey they get the job done!

Gaaaahhhh I can't believe what showed up at my door last night!!! This bundle of awesomeness comes all the way from the UK as part of a maker exchange with the insanely creative and endlessly talented Sarah Calladine . She's one of my favorite multi-talented makers, always up to something unique and cool!! If you don't follow her it's your loss.

For the maker exchange she made me the most beautiful pencil case with MY LOGO inlaid in silver!!! It's the most beautiful pencil case I've ever owned and to top it off she made me a little bee!!! I'm gonna name her Beetunia and I have the perfect spot for her to live. On a beach salvaged burl I found on vacation in NS that I turned into a beehive. You might have noticed it in the background of some of my pics. It just always felt like it was missing something. And of course she included snacks!!!

Just wanted to say thank you again Sarah for not only the maker exchange but for always being an inspiration. Always taking on new and sometimes crazy projects, you're absolutely my kind of people!!!
