In one of our most recent healthcare projects, we had the pleasure of specifying furniture to compliment the A&D firm’s biophilic design concepts.

Biophilic design is a methodology that integrates natural features, light, and materials into the built environment to reconnect people with nature, enhancing health, well-being, and productivity. It moves beyond aesthetics to create restorative spaces that reduce stress, boost creativity, and improve cognitive function.

This digital print wallpaper of cherry blossoms helps immerse the user into tranquility while paying homage to the history of Canada. Gifted by Japan, as a part of the Sakura Project, Ontario planted over 3,000 cherry blossom trees across the province. These trees, found in areas like Hamilton’s Bayfront Park, serve as a token of appreciation for post WWII support, and is a lasting symbol of friendship and goodwill.

We wanted to ensure this pocket lounge area complimented the importance of this design concept and allows the users to fully enjoy the space.

In our most recent reception area in a healthcare facility, we used our go-to; the Primacare guest seating by . This healthcare ancillary seating line provides optimum comfort, which is highly important to consider when you are unsure of the length of your stay.

To support durability, vinyl is specified due to easy cleaning and superior abrasion resistance. To keep things extra clean, moisture barriers and sealed seams further help the lifespan of these lounge pieces. Blue was selected to incorporate the facility’s brand into the space upon first impression of users.

Bedside manner is important, especially in healthcare furniture selection. In patient rooms, we ensure there are options for multiple guests who may be visiting, that will support the duration of any stay.

It is important to consider the use of a Recliner or Sleep Chair for those long stays, when loved ones want to be there for optimum support. Bariatric Chairs are an important consideration as well to provide an inclusive environment for guests and visitors. A third chair may be provided for when large groups may want to visit. And of course, an adjustable, moveable chair is crucial to include for the healthcare professional, to help them best do their job in making the patient as comfortable as possible.

With these tips in mind, it allows a patient to feel fully supported when their friends and family have the furniture to support a longer stay.

Power requirements are an important element of office furniture solution to be considered throughout all phases of design. This installation showcases how power can be seamlessly integrated into your office furniture layouts.

Power Qubes are our go to desktop power solution. We have specified this on the main surfaces of the private offices, as well as collaboration spaces with combinations of power and USB. Wires are kept clean and tucked away within wire management systems for a seamless aesthetic.

Meeting table power is also a large consideration to ensure meeting tasks run smoothly. Power integrated tables have a wide variety of power options (power, USB, HDMI, CAT6) with wire management concealed within laminate gables with access doors.

The private offices were specified with laminate wall panels with integrated power for more accessible power, rather than solely relying on wall outlets.
