I was very excited to find this tricolor marble in Ingonish, Cape Breton today. Here's more about this prized find:
This tricolor marble is a highly coveted sea glass marbles that are American machine-made pieces manufactured from 1920 to 1960.
The Style: The vibrant inner swirl is indicative of American-made "Cat's Eye" or ribbon marbles. During the mid-20th century, these were imported and widely sold across Canada for schoolyard games. Tricolor marbles are highly collectible vintage glass toy marbles that feature exactly three distinct colors in their design. In the marble collecting world, "tricolor" is a specific term used to differentiate them from simpler "bicolor" (two-color) models, making them significantly rarer and more valuable.
