His knife. His carry style. His colours. His details. 👌

This customer came to us looking for a scout-carry knife sheath, and from there, he made it his own, choosing chestnut bridle leather, hurricane blue stitching, and nickel hardware!

The result? A sheath made specifically for his knife, in a combination that’s completely his.

And that blue stitching against the chestnut? 💙👌

Swipe through for a closer look at the details and some of what went into making it.

Made right here in our Hamilton shop.

We’ve been a little quiet over here… but definitely not because it’s been quiet in here. 😂

The shop has been BUSY. Custom orders, leather flying across the cutting table, classes, customers, production. All the good stuff that keeps us running from one thing to the next.

So if you haven’t seen us on Instagram as much lately, this is pretty much where we’ve been. 👆

Head down, making things. ❤️

And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sometimes a custom request pushes us just outside our usual box and those are often the projects we end up loving most. 👊

A different shape. Different mounting points. Our new favourite black pebbled calf leather. And a finished f***y pack we were VERY tempted to keep for ourselves.

What do you think? Should we make more? 👀

TOOL TIP TUESDAY: Why does leather have wrinkles?

See those lines running through the hide? They’re not damage or defects. They’re part of the leather!

Leather was once skin, so just like our skin, it can have wrinkles, stretch marks, scars and variations in texture. You’ll often see more wrinkling around areas of the hide that moved and stretched during the animal’s life - think neck, shoulders, belly.

Depending on the leather and the project, we might cut around these areas or intentionally include them. Those natural variations are one of the things that make genuine leather so unique.

No two hides are exactly the same and we think that’s part of the beauty of working with leather. 🐄
