What Is a Decodable Book?
What makes a decodable book different from other beginner books?
Decodable books are written using a specific set of phonics skills that a child has already been taught. Instead of relying on pictures or guessing from context, children are encouraged to sound out each word using what they know. This builds true reading confidence.
Here’s what makes a book decodable:
