Finished in satin white with 1.5” solid walnut countertops that tie in seamlessly with the fireplace mantle. Another custom project for the Manitoba Moose — and this one means a lot to me.

This cabinet was built to conceal the Teams lineup board in the coaches office. Clean lines, soft-close hinges on the doors, and a functional design that keeps things private until it’s time to talk lineups.

For me, this project hits differently.
After years in the hockey world, stepping into their space now as a craftsman, a maker, and a small business owner brings everything full circle. Hockey shaped my life — and now I get to build pieces that serve the game in a new way.

After 12 years playing professional hockey in the NHL and AHL, an injury forced me to hang up the skates and reinvent myself. It’s been quite a journey over the past 5 years finding my way, after leaving my hockey life behind. I’ve dropped the gloves for sawdust — still working with my paws, just in a whole new way.

What started as a passion project has grown into Nomadic Designs Woodworks — a family-run shop based in Headingley, Manitoba, where I build custom cabinetry, fine furniture, and one-of-a-kind gifts & décor. Every piece is crafted from Canadian-made materials and built right here at home.

I’m proud to support Canadian suppliers and local businesses, keeping craftsmanship and community close to home while shipping custom pieces anywhere across the country.
