Congratulations Calgary Stampede on a very successful canvas auction!!

In a historic show of support for chuckwagon racing, Calgary’s business community shattered previous records, committing $6.075 million tonight at the 2026 Calgary Stampede Canvas Auction presented by Play Alberta!

Rae Croteau Jr. set a new record with the top bid of the night at $550,000, helping drive total proceeds up $2.235 million over 2025 to reach a new all-time record.

The action doesn't stop there - see it all come to life this July at the Rangeland Derby presented by Play Alberta!

Today's episode of the Flames Alumni Krahnicles, presented by Cuming & Gillespie LLP and hosted by Pat Steinberg, features Pt. 1 of the convo Brent Krahn and Colin Patterson had with Calgary product Archie Henderson!

They chat about scouting Brent during his time as with the Hitmen, growing up in Calgary and coming from a blue collar family, how he made the choice between a scholarship and junior hockey, and then how he got the call to come try out for the NHL!

While Archie did not play in Calgary during his time in the NHL, our alumni group is one of the few in the league that welcomes retired players who now reside in Calgary! Since joining our alumni family, Archie and his family have been dedicated to helping out in our community and they volunteer at many events!
