I've been busy the last couple days on a project for the proprietor of the Second and third beach concessions at Stanley park.
Raymond wanted sliding window units installed over the existing concession openings so I fabricated these for him.
I built a custom overhead track system with concealed wheels and hardware. The windows are made from polycarbonate sheets which allowed me to custom cut each oiece to fit as required. There's a routered groove in the cedar boxes to guide the bottom of the sliding sheet.
Finished off with the wood trim all around which I also cut into the various widths and lengths required on site.
The ability to be able to close the windows will make it much more comfortable for the staff as, before, they had to have the shutters wide open for business and could be subject to cool winds coming in.
It wound up being a lot of work ( more than anticipated! ) but Raymond and myself are pleased with the result :).
