Making an urn surround and some coordinating vase arrangements for a Celebration of Life.
This gentleman loved fishing and his urn even had a fish and rod etched into it. I tried to capture the look on the edge of a lake with tall grasses, greens and moss. (The box style urn sits on the top “lily pad” area so it is surrounded by the greens and flowers). Not perfect, more natural. There are some flowers in this but less than usual. I loved the way it turned out and the customer was very happy, and that is the most important thing to me.
The flower work I do is not cookie cutter. It really depends on the flowers; their shape, size and color and where it takes me. So know that when you order an occasional arrangement, book a wedding or are wanting florals for a funeral or celebration of life from Generations, it’s custom. For You. For your occasion. It’s not off a website or a recipe. It’s your budget, and what we can do within it!

Sunflowers are coming in HOT! A few of the pretty bouquets that went out this week and some snaps of the sunflowers this AM in the garden patch. All next week, sunflowers will be 5 for $20 (taxes included). Brighten up somebody’s day!!!

Question Time! Custom Hockey Wreaths. I made one for Bracken Financial (thanks Dwaine) to donate to the Hudson Bay Summer Hockey School and a second from Generations as a donations to the Girls Summer Hockey School.
Would any of you be interested in one as well? If so, I can try and get some Hunters paraphernalia to make them more personalized. Or if you have some of your own little gloves or the Learn to Play, U7 hockey sticks kicking around, I can make the wreath with your personal kids items. (Just note, no two are ever the same due to gloves, shape of wreath, handmade sign, etc)
These wreaths are good for the whole season. Hang a couple balls on it for Christmas or wind some battery operated lights arounds it. Tuck some stars in there for New Years. Change out the stars for hearts for Valentines Day…. It’s all still hockey season! lol depending on the year, may have to put some Easter Eggs and a bunny in there too, come spring! LOL

Okay okay. I had to share this. These roses are going into their 5th week. Yes!!! You heard that right. Week #5!! The first 2 1/2 weeks were spent in the cooler hoping someone would take them home. Didn’t happen so I thought why not enjoy the heck out of these beauties. So they have been sitting on our front counter since Monday, July 27. We are entering week 5 of being in a vase and week three of sitting on the counter.
I have said it before and will say it again. These long stem Explorer roses are worth every. single. penny. These roses are lasting every bit as long as a carnation. And looking more full bodied and lush every day. (Must take after their owner 😉😂). Looking after your flowers, changing the water at least once a week and resnipping them, putting them into fresh water with floral food really and truly does make a difference!!
