Our very multi species hay crop is looking fine. Au moins 10 espèces sont présent. On a coupé juste au « boot stage” pour maximizer la volume et la valeur nutritive.

Our neighbours have been putting seed in the ground for weeks, 👌. We have a small bit of our farm going into grain crops, so we had the luxury of waiting for the perfect soil conditions.

Les observations paie les dividendes! C’est pas juste pousser le foins, c’est l’observation. Pas juste nettoyer les abreuvoirs… on regarde le comportement. Animal husbandry is both art and science.

We had an emergency barn clean out today. Our Feb group had to be in close quarters for 1 hr. But we pushed through got the barn re bedded and everything is back to normal!

Plant 2026 has been going for a few weeks here in SW Quebec. While we don’t have hundreds of acres to plant, we do have a few!The soil is warmed up, the risk of compaction has been reduced and we are gearing up. Good luck to everyone!
