🌿🍇🌿 I'm soo excited, LOL 😁😀✨️
Last year, I decided to headout to one of our local garden centers, and while out browsing, I landed in the fruits area, I took one look at the grapes, and decided at that point I was going to purchase 2 plants, 2 green seedless grapes and 2 purple seedless grapes.
🌿🍇🌿 I brought them home all excited to show and tell my husband that I bought grapes 🤣 Not exactly what he had in mind, lol, but he went out and built a beautiful and perfect arch for our grapevines to grow.
🌿🍇🌿 I carefully read the information, and it indicated that it can take up-to 4 years before we may see any fruits..
🌿🍇🌿 Today, I came back down to the grapevines to assure they are climbing well, and was sooo excited to see all the baby grapes growing away 😁😁🥰✨️
Soo happy !!!!
Looking forward to seeing what the fall brings us and definitely next summer 😁🥰🌿🍇🌿

Take a look at my absolutely gorgeous Delphiniums we planted last summer a " Guardian Blue ".
I just cannot believe how beautifully it came up this year 🤩🥰
I seriously think I found another love for our gardens
Best part.. She's still growing many many beautiful flowers... 🪻😍🥰🪻

💐 Ohh For anyone that knows me... You know I just love weddings !!
✨️ This past weekend, we had a request to decorate one of Seaway Charters - Your Local Transportation units for a lovely Bride & Groom, I was just tickled pink, haha!!
💐 My response was "YES", I would love too !!
Sooo.. off I go floral shopping, tulle shopping, ribbon and all the accessories that come with it, Woohoo !!
I excitedly put everything together and carefully stored it away until wedding day!
✨️ When the wedding was now here, We were able to decorate the unit with the majority of our decorations, however, with the rain that just seemed to never end, I was not able to add the finishing touch of the hood arrangement. I knew the rain would saturate the last piece too much, but we did manage to keep the rest of the tulle and floral intact throughout the beautiful ceremony, and the drive to the reception!

🌿🪻🌿 Over the past weekend, We hit the lavendar garden and got to work clipping away before all this rain was geared up to hit us.. So glad we did !!

🪻 We definitely had a very relaxing time clipping away. We had fuzzy little bumble beez flying around trying hard to get the last flower, lol. They however, did not bother us at all, we were just careful where and when we made a cut haha.

🪻 The aroma is absolutely blissful, and it was definitely a quiet and peaceful moment in the garden.

🪻 Our basket was soon completely filled with tied lavender from the season. We will have a few more flowers grow from now to fall, but not an abundance as we just had.

🪻 It's a sad moment cutting lavender, because the once beautiful blooming rows of purple is now gone and all that remains are little green balls 🤣

🪻 Now, we get busy, creative, and thankful for a lovely harvest of lavender 💜

🌿🏵🌿 This past weekend, we had some fun out in our trial rows of Zinnias.. These guys are little warriors, because we definitely did not get them off to a good start, lol.

🏵 1- We started the seeding process inside in March to prepare them for outdoor planting.
Not 100% sure I will do this next spring.. There are definitely benefits to starting inside, but can work just the same if not better, if directly sowed outside..

🏵 2- We definitely had an early spring, but I hesitated planting anything outside until the threat of frost was gone.. We didn't fare out so good last year, so they had a later start in the ground.

🏵 3- Rain... Holy cow have we gotten rain... If we weren't flooded in it... We couldn't garden in it.. it's been crazy here with weather, and if it's not raining, it's beyond dry, dry, dry..

🏵 4- Wind... We live on the water, and I can't explain how bad the wind is down here.. If you walked in front of our home, there's no wind.. If you turned around and walked to the back, you might fly away 🤣, So the wind can definitely shorten the growing process to our flowers, so we continue to be creative, and prepare for next year!

🏵 5- And... The biggest struggle of them all... Those bestie Japanese Beetles 😡 It's always a battle...

🏵 6- Last but not least, trimming is important for strong growth, get out there and pinch the flowers to grow many more on a stem and reap the rewards 😁

🏵 Here is our first little bundle we gathered, not the prettiest yet! But aa mentioned, this year is all trial and error. We are struggling with mother nature, and we will beat her at her game 😉

🌿🪻🌿 Have we ever told you how much we just love lavender and all the benefits that lavender can provide ?
We planted our beautiful lavender rows 2 years ago, and started to add a new creation to our little oasis. Here is our story;
🪻 We hosted a Glengarry Mini Tour with our main Company Seaway Charters - Your Local Transportation, and provided an incredible group with a tour of a few fabulous "Gems" in rural Glengarry.
🪻 One of the tours landed at us at an absolutely beautiful and very picturesque landscaping of rolling fields and row after row of luscious Lavender.. One cannot explain the feeling you get when you've met your peace maker and for me.. Its a field of Lavender..
The aroma, the calmness, the absolutely beautiful scent and color it shares with us, is so relaxing and calming.. Giving one, especially myself, a sense of relaxation, and calmness.. I told David, get ready, because I just ordered a whole pile of Lavender plants to plant mini Lavendar Rows in our garden at home 🤣.
And so the fun began...
🪻 We now have 3 beautiful healthy rows of Lavender to enjoy in our yard. The vibrant colors of white & purple completes our garden, let alone the stress free, mind free zone it brings to our garden is what gardening should be all about.
🪻 Benefits: Not only does Lavender bring one peace and calmness, but it's also used for Baking, Juices, Ice Cream and not to mention, Natural Oils, Room Freshners, Soaps, Herbal Teas.. The list goes on and on..
🪻 This week, we unfortunately have to cut back our beautiful Lavendar.. We are late in doing so, but I just wanted more time to enjoy it's beautiful color.. But, if I don't harvest the floral stems now, ww won't be able to reap the benefits of its lavender.
🪻 PS.. The Lavendar will grow back for a smaller harvest closer to fall, it's just the point, lol...
🪻 Stay tuned, I will post our harvest of our beautiful Lavender, soon, along with a delicious recipe 😋
