🔔 Dear Traveller,
Today, the light comes to the Balance.
At the Equinox, the great celestial wheel turns once more. The Sun reaches the threshold of the Scales and for this brief passage of the year, light and darkness stand together; neither conquering the other, neither asked to diminish.
There is a particular kind of wisdom in that.
Balance is not the absence of darkness. It is knowing that light and shadow belong to the same turning wheel. There are seasons for growing and seasons for gathering, seasons for holding tightly and seasons for letting go.
Virgo has gathered the harvest.
Libra raises the Scales as the great wheel turns toward this passage.
We now stand between them at the doorway of the year; while the long nights begin their return and the arriving stars take their place in the heavens as the patterns sewn into the shifting robes of the Great Mother.
Perhaps today is not a day to ask which side should weigh more. It is simply a day to notice what we have seen in the broadness of the daylight. What we harvest now is what we will use to sustain us as we move forward while discernment advises us in what we shall leave behind.
When the scales within us have found their centre, the journey into the darkness leads to an ancient trail marked for those who carry their own light.
⚖️ The light is in the Balance.✨

🔔Dear Traveller,

Above us, the great wheel turns once more and tomorrow will bring with it an astrological change in its momentum.

Virgo gathers the last sheaf and begins her quiet descent, while Libra rises to take her place among the stars.

There is something ancient and comforting in this celestial procession. Nothing clings forever to its place. One season completes its work, bows gracefully, and makes way for the next.

Virgo has asked us to tend, sort, harvest, discern and to notice what requires our care. Now Libra arrives with her scales, asking us to consider balance: between giving and receiving, speaking and listening, holding on and letting go. And so the rotation continues, as it has in the eons before us and will long after us.

The heavens turn.
The seasons answer.
And we travel beneath them.

Welcome, Libra. ⚖️✨

🔔 Dear Traveller, Today Le Chariot has arrived, and apparently we are going somewhere.

The Ace of Swords says: make the decision. Cut through the nonsense. Leave behind what doesn’t need to come with you.

The II of Cups reminds us to notice who meets us along the way. Good journeys are often made better by good company.

XX Le Soleil recommends you turn your face toward the light and explore your inner joys.

⚜️Not everything has to become a lesson, a struggle or a three-month spiritual excavation. Sometimes the road simply opens. ⚜ Move.
⚜ Choose clearly.
⚜ Welcome good company.
⚜ Enjoy the sunshine.

The Chariot is waiting. Hop in and ride the vibe!✨🌟🔔 Per Stellam et Sonum.

🔔 Dear Traveller,
September has arrived, and the cards have something to say.
⚜ L’Hermite has brought the lantern.
⚜ La Roue de Fortune has brought absolutely no guarantee whatsoever.
⚜ L’Étoile has brought hope, water and the rather radical suggestion that perhaps we needn't control everything.
And thus we have our instructions for September.
Carry a light. Expect movement. Remain hopeful.
September is a threshold month. Summer has not entirely packed its bags, autumn is already measuring the curtains, and somewhere in the garden a tomato plant is still behaving as though it has all the time in the world.
We may feel much the same. There are things still ripening. Things ready to be harvested. Things that have plainly finished and should not be dragged into another season simply because we have become accustomed to carrying them.
L’Hermite asks us to look carefully at where we are going.
La Roue reminds us that life will move whether we have completed the paperwork or not.
And L’Étoile says: leave something open for grace.
Not every good thing must be wrestled into existence. Some doors open because we finally arrive at them. Some answers appear because we become quiet enough to hear them.
Some fortunes change because the wheel simply turns.
So enter September carrying what is useful, blessing what is finished, and leaving one hand free for whatever wonderful thing may be trying to find you. Should the Wheel suddenly fling everybody's plans into a hedge, remain calm.
The Hermit has a lantern.
We shall retrieve them and reassemble.
🔔 Welcome, September.
May your road be illuminated, your harvest plentiful, your fortunes favourable, and your bells ring in celebration.

🔔 Dear Traveller,
The query posed today for those not disinclined toward morning questions. If you aren’t whimsical… what exactly are you?
Prosaic? Sublunary? Commonsensical??? Good heavens.
Are you just going about your day with no unnecessary bells whatsoever? Do you own objects solely because they are useful? Have you never purchased something completely indefensible because it had a moon on it? Do you pass a particularly magnificent mushroom without wondering whether somebody important lives underneath it? When a crow stares at you knowingly, do you honestly believe this is none of your business?
Disturbing.
Here at Bells & Baubles, we believe adulthood already contains quite enough administration, passwords, insurance renewals and people saying things like “How strange.”
We therefore see no reason to make matters worse by removing the whimsy. Death by boredom is not an option.
Wear the ridiculous hat in colours that can be seen from space. Ring the bell. In fact, ring ALL the bells. Name the garden snail. Build the toad in your flowerbed a house. Put stars and flowers on things that absolutely do not require stars and flowers. Own a mysterious little box whose purpose has never been formally established.
And should anyone ask why you have bells in the trees, a residence for the garden toad, stars on the ceiling and a small box containing three acorns, a feather and something you are fairly certain is important, look them calmly in the eye and say, “I find your lack of whimsy somewhat disturbing.”
Then ring a bell and refuse further comment until they show signs of life beyond mundane existence.

🔔 Dear Traveller,
And so, we arrive at the last day of August, where Summer is discovered standing in the doorway with one sandal missing, three tomatoes in her apron pockets and absolutely no recollection of where the month went.
August has been busy. The Sun blazed in Leo. The Moon carried on. The heavens rearranged the furniture several times without consulting anyone, and the pool came alive under all of that. Virgo eventually arrived with her fall cleaning supplies and a no-nonsense attitude. She is here to supervise the summer clean-up crew before autumn arrives and drops leaves all over everything.
This month, some things grew. Some things ended. Some things revealed themselves to have been complete nonsense and were quietly placed at the curb. This is the peculiar wisdom of late summer. The garden does not mourn every blossom that falls. It simply begins making seeds. Perhaps we might take notes from that. Keep what nourished you. Gather what ripened. Save the seeds of what you would like to grow again. And whatever turned out to be an enormous waste of everybody’s time may be left behind for the compost heap of experience, where even bu****it occasionally becomes useful.
🔔Tomorrow, September arrives. Though its name literally means “seven,” it has apparently misplaced its dictionary under the raspberry bushes and nonetheless arrives in the ninth place of the modern calendar: confused, but present. She brings sensible shoes, cooler evenings and the unmistakable air of a woman who has arrived with a basket and expects it to be well filled.
So today, Traveller, linger a little. Sit in the last golden light of August. Listen to the bees. Notice what grew while you were busy living. And, when evening comes, ring the bell for everything this strange and beautiful month carried through your door.
Tomorrow, you will open it again as September knocks. The time of the long shadow is here. The harvest has begun, and what remains is to dance in gratitude beneath the lingering warmth of September’s golden light.

Well, the place doesn’t look haunted anymore now that the front yard has been redesigned. We still need to put the walkway to the shop back in so don’t be shy about walking on our soft new grass. Honk for service! I’m in the back yard at this time of year with just a gate between us. Visit Bells and Baubles for wonderful gifts and surprises! 🔔
