My heart is still overflowing today. Man...is this going to be a long post!!
Yesterday was more than just another successful market; it was a profound reminder of why I started this new adventure in the first place.
When I moved to Innisfil years ago, I had a vision of creating a space for makers, artists, and small business owners; the people who know exactly what it means to pour every ounce of their soul into a passion in the hopes of making it a living.
What I didn't anticipate back then was that these aisles would become the birthplace of what I now affectionately call my Market Family.
You’ve become so much more than vendors and shoppers; you’ve become my friends, my support system, and my community. The market isn’t just where people go to shop...it’s where we go to connect and truly show up for the people who make our community what it is.
To my Vendors...both the familiar faces who have been with me from the start and the new ones who joined me for the first time yesterday: Thank you. I know that for many, this has been a rough year. I see so many event organizers calling it quits, and I know many vendors are feeling the strain of lower attendance and sales at other events. I feel that weight, too.
But seeing the arena buzzing yesterday—in what I honestly believe was one of the best markets I’ve put on in Innisfil, is exactly why I keep going. I’m not just doing this for myself; I’m doing it for every one of you who packs up your vehicle at dawn, hoping to build your business and find those long-term clients who value your craft. Your success is my "why."
I have some very special people to thank for making yesterday feel like home:
Our Incredible Sponsors: I want to give a massive, heartfelt thank you to our sponsors. You invest in this vision, and I want you to know it makes a real difference. Your belief in this community is what allows us to keep growing and thriving together.
Walter Rosenberger: My photographer extraordinaire...you have been in my corner since the very inception of this market. Your talent for capturing the heart and soul of what I bring to Innisfil each season is unmatched, and I truly can’t say enough good things about you.
Doug Grabinsky & the ZooTek Crew: Always a fan favourite! If you spend even five minutes with Doug, you see he isn’t just a presenter; he’s someone who deeply cares for his animals. Watching him help both the kids and the adults find their courage is a highlight every single time.
CraftPopStudio.ca was such a delightful addition. The flower crafting station was a hit, and it warms my heart to know those bouquets are heading to local seniors’ homes to brighten their day.
Steve and Mary-Ellen of DJ Madness Entertainment-DJ Service: The ultimate dynamic duo! You kept the energy high and the vibes perfect all day long. We already can’t wait to have you back for the Summer Market in July!
Our Student Volunteers: A huge thank you to those who stepped up. Your hard work behind the scenes ensured everything ran smoothly, and it truly does not go unnoticed.
To my shoppers: thank you for choosing to spend your Saturday with us and for your contributions to the Innisfil Food Bank.
I’m heading into a bit of a "rest and recover" mode now, but my mind is already racing with ideas for July. We’re going to keep growing, keep connecting, and keep showing what this community is capable of.
See you all this summer! ☀️
Lots of love,
Nina
