Celebrating the 5-year anniversary of The Resurgence Collection, a collaboration between Supported Soul and Sḵwálwen Botanicals 🌿🫶

This collection invites Indigenous cultural context and representation into spaces where we connect to ourselves through yoga, movement, and breath. 😌

It includes 3 designs by Coast Salish artist Ocean Hyland/ shḵwen̓/ ts;simtelot 🌊

Speném (Plant) is an expression of gratitude for all that plants teach us. As you spend time on this mat, you’re invited to connect with the plants and remember them by their Sḵwx̱wú7mesh names.

Míx̱alh (Bear) is an expression of the strength to find inner peace. Bears are excellent at preserving energy. As you spend time with míx̱alh you’re invited to call your energy back and replenish your spirit.

Tḵáya (Wolf) is an expression of balance. Wolves teach us many things, like community responsibility, they also remind us of our desire to be wild and unique. As you spend time with tḵáya, you’re invited to honour your dualities.

12.5% of sales are donated to The hiýám Project, which facilitates thousands of seeds planted on the lands of Indigenous communities. Their goal is to conserve Indigenous plant knowledge by ensuring that native plant species are accessible to future generations.

The hiýáḿ Project was created in partnership by Sḵwálwen Botanicals and Satinflower Nurseries. It supports Indigenous communities, individuals, and organizations by sharing native seed packets featuring a culturally significant plant species each year. 🌱

This year’s featured species is Camassia quamash ssp. maxima, known as Spánanexw in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, SPÁNW̱ in SENĆOŦEN, qʷetłal in lək̓ʷəŋən, and Speenhw in Hul’q’umi’num’.

The seed packets feature beautiful artwork by W̱SÁNEĆ Nation artist Sarah Jim of W̱SIKEM (Tseycum). is a visual artist of mixed ancestry from the small village of Tseycum in W̱SÁNEĆ.

Thanks to the passion of our yoga community, Supported Soul has been able to donate over $9,000 to the hiýáḿ Project since it was created in 2021. 🥰
