An oldie but kinda rarely seen these days! Just got restock in on this tote design that we haven’t had available for quite some time (maybe even only one print?). We’ve been mulling over the archive of Barnacle Design and maybe thinking about printing some shirts again too - historically, getting me motivated to flog shirts is like pulling teeth over here but maybe the time is upon us!

Decent spill of good stuff getting priced right now - popular+affordable (ideal), pricey rarities (always a treat), and plenty of cheap classics for the bargain section!

Also, we’re STILL steadily putting out new vinyl arrivals in the contemporary wax side of the shop because after that last shipment I think I kinda overdid it so we’ve got more cherry stuff than the shelves can really accommodate right now - pretty much a one-to-one process of ‘sell something, put a freshly arrived new release/new addition out’ mode right now!

Whoa close call! So we had to close for a while this morning after a 3-car incident smashed up the building but now that the roads are cleared we’re back in the groove for a bit of year-end hustle. Everyone at Barnacle and Krob Krua are safe and healthy but I am less informed about the state of folks involved directly in the accident - so big care and concern going out to those folks! Hopefully everyone is okay.

We’ll be here normal hours now (short of another freak interaction collision; fingers crossed against that) - keep in mind that our bonus extra shelving of bargain bin gems will be going away after today so get your fingers on ‘em before 2025 winds up! We’ll still have the black window bins as ever but if’n you want to catch the tail end of the Wax Sale shelving setup today is your lass chanch.

Attn Barnapals! Jingle and giddy around to all; its snowy but the tunes are bopping here at Barnacle. It’s been a remarkably busy and social holiday season (and year, honestly) here at the shop so we’ve decided it might be fun (and funny!) to be open on Christmas Day for a few hours.
Naturally we’ll be here on the Eve from 11-4 (as is tradition) so if you’ve got any last minute picks you’re hunting for just swing on by - we’ve got an absolute deluge of late-arriving restocks and new arrivals since yesterday so peruse the webstore or the photos here (I actually put about that much again out in the shop after hours last night too).
As for our wacky idea of being open on the 25th: if’n you’re the type to go for a stroll on the big day, feel free to swing by the shop 11-3 for a festive snack/sip and a bit of classic Barnacle chat with Jessie and I. We’ll be here just hanging out so if you’re reading this consider yourself invited to ‘Barnacle Customer Appreciation Day’!

Here we go - still considering giving some gift wax this year but are really just not the gift card giving type? Well, our last big wave of last-minute restocks has begun to hit the shop; all these and a whole actual mountain more are arriving daily between now and the 24th. We’ll keep posting updates as batches arrive so keep it tuned here!

Over 3500 LPs stickered and ready to go for the sale already… and we’re not even close to done prepping yet! A veritable $2, $3, $5 and $7 feast!

Seriously: you’d think it was the end times with the absolute bunker of vinyl we’ve built this year in celebration of a decade of wax sales. Not only is this year going to be fully diluvian by metric of sheer quantity but also we’re really busting the belt with the quality mix of classics, popular cuts and oddities peppered throughout. All this in addition to the new vinyl mark downs (some 500 of those!) and refreshes to the cassettes and CD offerings - seriously, this Saturday is looking massive!

So, if you’ve been waiting to bone up your collection with vinyl from across the spectrum of record store classics (without the thrift store chaff you would normally find in such girth of wax) then this Wax Sale should be like the fields of darn Elysium for ya… sorry Nana and Mr Whittaker - Barnacle just doesn’t have the shelf space for you with all this primo this year!

10am-5pm, Saturday November 22 in this year of two thousand and twenty five - bring your barnacle tote and you’re top tier digging game for the deepest stacks of wax we’ve ever slapped!

Sneak peak of the first little treat lined up for Barnacle Wax Sale 2025 - in celebration of our 10 years here slinging vinyl to all you most excellent people of Kamloops (and all you equally excellent people beyond!) we’ve remixed some past era Barnacle freebie stickers as well as reprinted some of our favourites. If you’re a Barnacle sticker head then next Saturday is going to be your chance to grip some rarities not seen in recent years as well as a limited edition unique run in the style of our old school Barnacle t-shirt design!

Ps. We’ve been in a frenzy of hustle with material sale prep so bear with me and I’ll get a post to drool over the absolutely absurd harvest of wax that’s almost ready to roll!

Wax Sale sale sale - Nov 22nd, yall; you know the score.

It’s gonna be a bumper crop of good stuff this year (I know I know it’s been great before but seriously this year is absolutely ridiculous what we have lined up on offer). Stay tuned for the classic Barnacle hype wagon post for what’s happening but for now: killed it with the illustration for this year’s poster potion. Rumour has it he’s still hard at work on some more similar works so if you’re liking the ‘spooky mass of barnacles’ aesthetic keep your ear to the ground for some limited stickers and maybe a new t-shirt design maybe coming soon maybe 👀
