Happy International Women’s Day! Approximately 80% of garment workers worldwide are women, many of whom are faced with poor working conditions, low wages, and limited rights.

I’m inspired by the many women striving to make a difference in the fashion industry, and demanding fair wages for garment workers.

Today, let’s honour the women who make our clothes by advocating for fair wages and safe working conditions, and continuing to support brands who do pay their workers a living wage.

Today is World Ocean Day🌊
What’s in our clothes, and how does it affect our oceans?

The majority of clothing being made today is made from synthetic (plastic) materials such as polyester and nylon.

Every time we wash these materials, they shed microplastics, which seep into our sewage systems, and eventually our oceans. These microplastics can be fatal to marine life.

What can we do about this?⤵️

1. Wash your clothes on a lower temperature

2. Wash your clothes less frequently.

3. Choose the clothes you buy wisely, and consider the material before purchasing.

Sustainable cleaning products ✅

For a long time I’ve wanted to get into more sustainable, non-toxic home cleaning products, but honestly I just didn’t know where to start.

With these bottles from you never have to buy another bottle of cleaner - you just put in one of their zero waste refill tabs. All you have to do is fill the bottles with water and plop in the tab and you have a whole new supply of household cleaner!

I haven’t tried them out just yet, but I’ll be sure to let you know how I like them! I’m so glad to see brands like these being innovative and making sustainability EASY.
