If you’re interested, here is a little backstory for you…

My sister Kristy and I, Ashley, purchased Arcand Party Tents an existing business built from the ground up, by our dad’s close friend and local farmer, Corey Arcand.

Corey, one of the hardest working people we know, decided to sell one of the most stressful businesses he owned, Arcand Party Tents, 3 years ago.

That is when I Ashley, A Certified Athletic Therapist, owner of Podium Sports Therapy & Wellness Centre & a sucker for hard labour, convinced my sister, an investments specialist with ScotiaWealth to partner & buy Arcand Party Tents.

We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into…but that is how every great story starts, no❓

Thankfully, we recruited the BEST right-hand man, other than our father and spouses, who we owe many thanks to the continued success of this business Kenny, we appreciate you daily!

Upon purchase of this physically and mentally draining business, we heard many dismissive remarks… my favourite being...
“This business is too hard for two girls, two girls can’t set up tents.”

To the pessimists, I thank you immensely for the fuel to do better🙏

Less than 1 year after purchase, COVID hit, yes it sucked, yes it slowed us down, but it also allowed us to move our smaller tents and inventory, making the business manageable with less manpower, while we continue to learn through navigating our new venture.

We get asked often, “why haven’t you changed the name?”

Ironically, our grandmother is an Arcand, plus, we respect the dedication Corey put into this business, even after he sold it to us.
The reputation spoke for itself, thanks to Corey, so why not keep a good thing going!

Thanks to Kenny, Corey, Mom, Dad, our spouses, friends and importantly the team at Podium for your continued support to allow for the navigation through this intense seasonal business! We appreciate all of you more than you know and will continue to do so, perpetually.
