Our beautiful, 1000 + square foot studio is nestled in the quiet woods beside Andrea's home. The Academy was founded in Kemptville in 1991, and has always offered quality, professional training with an emphasis on fun, laughter, and respect. Andrea is proud to be one of the very few certified dance teachers in our area (The Canadian Dance Teacher's Association), and cont

inues to further her knowledge by attending numerous teacher workshops/courses including the National Ballet School, Royal Academy of Dance, and Rhee Gold's DanceLife Conference. The Academy of Expressive Dance offers season classes (Sept.-June) in: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical Jazz, and Creative Dance
Adult classes vary by session, which lasts on average about 8 weeks in length. Pilates Plus, Ballroom Fire & Fitness, and special summer classes are offered as the studio schedule allows.

At the Academy, my teaching philosophy has always been simple: every student deserves to feel safe, supported and celebrated while receiving thoughtful, quality instruction.

We don’t focus on comparison or competition. We make room for joy, creativity, mistakes, growth—and plenty of laughter! It’s one of the things that makes the Academy a little different.

Every dance studio brings something unique to the table, so I encourage parents to consider their goals when choosing one. Look beyond the class name and ask: What kind of experience do I want for my child? The best studio is the one whose values match what matters most to your family. 💜✨

Every child writes a different story....
Some become professional performers.
Some become teachers.
Some become doctors, farmers, artists, parents, and entrepreneurs.

My greatest hope is simply this: that they leave the Academy believing in themselves, no matter how long they are here, and no matter where their life takes them.

Something Exciting is Beginning

As September nears, it always feels a little like opening the first page of a brand-new story.

Behind the scenes, the studio is slowly coming back to life. Costumes are being organized, supplies are arriving, classes are being planned, and I find myself getting excited to welcome both familiar faces and new ones through our doors.

For 36 seasons, this has been one of my favourite times of the year.

Whether you've danced with us before or you're thinking about taking that very first step, I hope you'll follow along over the next few weeks. I'll be sharing little glimpses of what makes our Academy such a special place.

Because it has never just been about dance.

It's about confidence.
It's about creativity.
It's about friendship.
It's about belonging.
