Honestly, up at Maynard we donā€™t care what you catch them onā€¦ if thereā€™s a fish on the end, itā€™s a fishing rod.

Great fish, great day, and another memory for the books.

Days like this are exactly why we love chasing northern pike at Maynard fast action, big smiles, and always the chance that the next one is the one youā€™ll be talking about all year.

River fishing is a different game. šŸŽ£

Current, structure, changing waterā€¦sometimes the fish make you work for it. Thatā€™s where a good guide really comes into play.

Our best advice? Build a relationship with your guide. Ask questions, try different things, figure it out together, and most importantlyā€¦ have a good time doing it.

Some of the best days arenā€™t when everything goes perfectly theyā€™re when you work together and finally crack the code. šŸ˜…šŸ”„

Itā€™s one of those parts of the trip people donā€™t always expect, but usually end up talking about just as much as the fishing.

You donā€™t have to be an expert to have a great day out here. šŸŽ£

Sometimes itā€™s someone who hasnā€™t fished much at allā€¦ and then suddenly theyā€™re holding a beautiful walleye with a smile they canā€™t hide.

Thatā€™s one of the best parts of Maynard showing people something new, helping them through it, and watching the moment it all clicks.

First fish or hundredth fishā€¦ the excitement still counts.
