I was so excited to write an article on my sweet friend Vanessa and her super special once in a life time kind of mare Badger.

Check out their story in this months

And make sure to check out and give Vanessa a follow if you haven’t already.

Because Vanessa is truly an inspiration with a heart for the lord and always encouraging and spurring others on in their walk with Christ. And we can all use more people like that in our lives. ❤️ ✝️

Bit #29 done and headed to “The Round Up” Ranch Rodeo in Oyen for September ❤️‍🔥

I guess we can all have our own defintion of the ‘finer things in life’,

for me it’s not the truck you drive, the clothes you wear, how you look, buckles won or money made.

it’s not so much the things you can ‘get’ but rather,

it’s the early mornings; saddling before the sun and watching it rise as you head out,
and the late nights getting home, when you gaze at the stars while letting your horse out.
it’s the noise of moving pairs,
it’s the smell of a branding trap,
it’s the long days,
and the challenging jobs,
it’s a broke in rope,
it’s the friends you keep,
it’s a warm cup of coffee,
it’s hearing the birds chirping,
it’s the way the grass sways in the warm wind,
it’s the familarity of a good horse,
& so much more.

so I guess the finer things in life to me is “less in your hands and more in your heart.”

for it’s not so much what you can ‘hold’ that determines the quality of your life but what lens you choose to filter it all through.

remember - the Lord doesn’t look at what others do, He looks at our hearts.

what we ‘have’ isn’t as important as who we are.

& I wanna be someone who makes the most out of whatever cards I’m dealt,
who never lets my circumstances make me forget my blessings or doubt the goodness of God

that it’s less about what I ‘need’ or ‘get’ and more about living for Christ regardless of it.

may we have a thankfulness for all that God has made and has given us to enjoy and steward, that far outweighs what we feel we ‘lack’ and most of all, may all of it point us back to our great need for Christ.

for these things will never give us life, thats only found in Jesus but i’m sure grateful for all that God has given us that fills our lives with good things.

& honestly, if we chose to see it this way, the little everyday things could become the ‘finer things in life’ if we chose to see them that way.

let the Word of God be the lens in which you filter all things through,
expect less and appreciate everything. ❤️‍🔥

[Bit #28 is done 🦋 thankful for each order]

Some thoughts I’ve been challenged by this past week:

Remember it gets better but not just by accident.

What you’re consuming is shaping who you’re becoming.
Who are you becoming more like by what you’re thinking about and spending time on?

I hope you never let the hard hits of life dull the light the Lord has placed in you for the things He has placed infront of you to do / shine through.

Chase something meaningful without losing yourself in the process or the things that truly matter most;
which is more about who you are than just what you can do.

everyone’s doing their best, help them be their best.

Stay humble and choke out your pride.
Keep God first and don’t forget,
we’re livin by faith, not by sight.

If we’re not where we want to be with who we are or becoming remember; that happens from seemingly “small” compromises that cause us to drift.
what you’re putting in, is what’s coming out.
nothing changes , if nothings changing.

the world needs you to be someone who doesn’t compromise and who lives unashamed of Gods Truth, at all costs.

and I hope we don’t avoids discomfort at all costs,
But see the greatest cost, is avoiding it.
Because it’s there where we are called to rise up,
and where we can grow.

Our greatest wealth? Having people to love and be loved by.
Waking up each day with a choice to not just do what makes us happy but to do what’ll bring God glory and serve Him and others.
our greatest wealth is less about what we want it to be about and more about what Gods Word says it’s about.

If somebody imitated your life, would they end up looking more like Jesus ?

Keep what matters most, mattering most. ❤️‍🔥

we’ve heard it said, don’t leave anything for later.

because later,
people grow old,
time passes by that you can get more of,
opportunities pass,
and later, well if we don’t do it now, it becomes a regret.

I hope if we don’t do anything, it’s the things we’re tempted to do instead.

that we wouldn’t let complaining,
or discontentment, or even comfort, keep us from living life to the fullest, in all the best of ways.

that a “full” life wouldn’t just be trying to do all the things the world tells us we should, in order to “live it up”,
But that we would do what Gods Word tells us to do, because that’s truly how life is lived with no regrets.

we can’t go back and change what we should of done but we can change what we’ll now do.

don’t miss the opportunities because you’re living in the past or thinking you’ll have more time later.

we can’t do everything but we can do something.
and that something can change a lot; for good or not.
be wise in what you do.

there’s so much more to life than always needing more,
and when our hearts are always set on looking for “more”,
or the next thing,
we forfeit contentment.

because life isn’t found in the “next best thing”,
or even holding onto the past;
it’s lived in the now.
in the season the Lord has us in.
right here we find that God has a purpose for us to be apart of,
and right here can be what we make of it.

so remember: life is what you make of it.
this season,
this job,
this marriage,
the friendships,
your attitude,
your walk with the Lord,
that hard spot you might find yourself in,
whatever it is;
it’ll be what you make of it.

no one going to live your life for you,
Keep doing your best and finding joy in the Lord and where He’s got you.

He holds it all and He is trustworthy.
When you’re tempted to think He’s withholding good from you, I hope you’re reminded, He is who He says He is.
He is good, always.
Read the Bible and hold tighter to those Words than just our feelings. Seek Gods Wisdom above our own.

Keep going friends, leave nothing for later.
Do the next right thing, when you have the opportunity ❤️‍🔥
