Eikon Device Inc. Eikon is a trusted name in tattoo equipment for over 30 years.

We’ve been at it long before it was cool and long before anyone outside the industry took it seriously.

If you’re sending your clients home with a fresh tattoo wrapped in the same stuff you’re using to wrap your leftovers… you may want to think again…

We asked tattooist Cameron Roach why he chooses second skins over cling wrap. We don't want to spoil the ending, but derm-style bandaging locks in your tattoos, keeping them protected while still allowing them to breathe. For faster heals, deeper colours and fewer touch-ups, leave the cling film in the kitchen and pick up DERM.

Thanks for letting us invade your shop. Stay tuned for more “Hands-On” videos with the crew at

Each month we ask artists to dig through their Favourites lists, and pick the products they can’t live without. This month, we’re headed to the Beer and Lederhosen capital of Canada - Waterloo, Ontario, to take a peek at what’s on Ellie Abbott’s station.

Ellie Abbott (aka .d.tattoo) is a self-described “spunky French Canadian” tattooist, who loves working on bright colourful pieces, adding her feminine flair to watercolour and floral works. But don't pigeonhole her, Ellie is open to various styles and is still looking for that niche style she can really make her own.

Mixing her passion for tattooing plants and flowers with photography, Ellie can often be spotted snapping pictures of the world in bloom for reference down the road. In her downtime, Ellie trades her machine for Lego pieces (and as much candy as she can handle) and you can often find her building Lego botanical sets… so you may want to watch your step around her shop. To fully relax (from that sugar high), Ellie loves to curl up on the sofa with her pup, and get lost in the beauty that is Anime.

Thanks for sharing your art and passions with us Ellie!

"The Canadian Electric Tattoo Scene" is a series of books dedicated to documenting Canada’s tattoo history meticulously curated by tattooist Ned Burwell.

"Canada has a rich and colourful tattoo history still waiting to be fully told. This three-book series will feature 375 Canadian tattoo artists and the lasting history they helped shape. We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us — and of each other.

This project began in 2008, when Ned Burwell started interviewing tattoo artists across Canada. Since then, he's travelled coast to coast and dedicated thousands of hours to documenting this history, your history. The goal is to publish the complete project by 2028" - Ned

About Ned Burwell

Ned Burwell is a Canadian master tattooist, and dedicated historian, who began his career in 1993 under the mentorship of veteran tattooist Mack Bregg; Ned’s tattoo style is most recognized for his large-scale, black-and-grey tattoos featuring wildlife and spiritual imagery. Since 2008, he has been meticulously documenting the origins of Canadian body art, and is currently compiling his research and interviews into a comprehensive 3-book series that will trace Canadian tattoo culture back to 1899

Eikon is proud to be a "Friend of the Canadian Electric Tattoo Scene Book series", with 100% of the proceeds of all book purchases going right back to the books creator Ned Burwell.
