Sometimes, the most important work we do is the quiet act of grounding ourselves before the day begins.

I find myself often returning to one specific ayah that brings so much comfort. Itโ€™s found in Surah Fatir (35:29), and it beautifully reframes the idea of success.. reminding me to always align my small daily actions with the โ€˜grand schemeโ€™ of my purpose:
ุฅูู†ูŽู‘ ุงู„ูŽู‘ุฐููŠู†ูŽ ูŠูŽุชู’ู„ููˆู†ูŽ ูƒูุชูŽุงุจูŽ ุงู„ู„ูŽู‘ู‡ู ูˆูŽุฃูŽู‚ูŽุงู…ููˆุง ุงู„ุตูŽู‘ู„ูŽุงุฉูŽ ูˆูŽุฃูŽู†ููŽู‚ููˆุง ู…ูู…ูŽู‘ุง ุฑูŽุฒูŽู‚ู’ู†ูŽุงู‡ูู…ู’ ุณูุฑู‹ู‘ุง ูˆูŽุนูŽู„ูŽุงู†ููŠูŽุฉู‹ ูŠูŽุฑู’ุฌููˆู†ูŽ ุชูุฌูŽุงุฑูŽุฉู‹ ู„ูŽู‘ู† ุชูŽุจููˆุฑูŽ
(Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allah and establish prayer and spend [in His cause] out of what We have provided for them, secretly and publicly, can expect a transaction [that is, a profit] that will never perish.)
What a beautiful concept of investment! We often work so hard for achievements that might come and go, but this verse outlines a business plan with guaranteed returns..not in terms of transient wealth, but in peace of mind, spiritual growth and an eternal promise.
It is a gentle nudge for me that a successful life isnโ€™t just about accumulating more things, or reaching the next milestone. Itโ€™s built in these quiet moments of reflection, the consistency of our prayers, and the quiet, unsung acts of generosity that nobody sees but the Creator. Each simple act.. like sitting with this beautiful book, or sharing a kind word, or giving a little extra thought to someone in need.. is a brick in an unshakeable foundation for our souls. These are the truly timeless investments.
As we all settle into this blessed Friday, letโ€™s take a beat and ask ourselves: What am I truly investing my energy in today? How can I ensure my accounts are filled with something lasting?
I wish you all a Friday filled with calm, intentionality, and meaningful moments. Letโ€™s make this day not just a routine, but a deliberate step forward in the best possible direction.
