It's time for the fair!

The KW Knitters' Fair is my favourite time of year. We gather together over 80 vendors of knitting and crochet supplies, then invite friends from all over to visit, wear their best knits, and go wild!

The K-W Knitters' Guild has been hosting this event for about 35 years, and it's always a fun time!

As a member of the fair committee, I'll be there setting up and helping with the fair all day Friday Sept 11 and Saturday Sept 12, so there will be no printing or shipping. If you have any urgent pattern needs, please send in your orders by this afternoon (Thursday, Sept 10).

Gertie and Jenn are working hard this morning, giving A0wyn a day off for a change. For those of you wondering: yes, it has been a whole year since we added A0wyn to the family, and Gertie is still going strong, surprising us all!

Today we are printing and shipping patterns for sara🌹 and other sewing friends!

And I talked about a couple of new designers in our PDF sales list, but forgot to mention another exciting one: Capstone patterns, a local designer! So go check those out on our website!

Happy new pattern day, sewing friends! I've done part of my delivery rounds, more on the way! We have some great patterns heading out to Brenda Gregory , Juanita Metzger , silja , the usual stop at flyingsquirrelyarnshop and our bi-weekly Riverside Fabrics bundle!

I'm also wearing one of my favourite tops, a Deer and Doe Datura, which is very appropriate for today: just this week we have added a bunch of Deer and Doe PDF patterns to the website, with more to come!

It's a great day for tracing paper printing! Some awesome prints are on their way to Krista Knott and other lovely sewists!

Yes, it's still pretty humid here, but when A0wyn is in the mood, we keep spooling! Some days the paper just isn't playing nicely, so tracing paper orders often take a little extra time.

What do we mean, complaining about the humidity? Mostly, it means paper jams. This tracing paper sucks up humidity like it's just found an oasis in the desert, then it jams up the works when we try to feed it through. Or sometimes the humidity causes little ink smears on the page, where it bubbles up ever so slightly. This is sometimes serious (obscuring the pattern, or causing it to be the wrong size), and sometimes just cosmetic.

Our other papers are thick enough that a little extra humidity doesn't affect the feed, luckily!

So we are grateful for your patience with this beautiful new paper. Those who love it really love it, and we hope it's worth the wait!

It's a perfectly rainy day here in Kitchener, a great day for sewing! A0wyn thinks so too, so she's spooling up some great patterns for Karen Heimburger today!

I'm waiting out the thunderstorms, then I'll be off for deliveries! Locals: see our stories and the flyingsquirrelyarnshop account for a parking update, the parking lot is under construction this week.
