Happening on September 29th; one day before National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

It was seriously so healing having La-Dawn in the store with us on Saturday.

There was something so special about the energy in the room,the sharing, the laughter, the connection and simply being able to slow down and be present together.

So, I’m incredibly grateful to welcome La-Dawn Redcrow back to Métis Matriarch for something a little different. ✨

Join us for a 60 minute Group Sound Healing Journey, beginning with intention setting and grounding before settling into an immersive sound experience with crystal singing bowls and other healing instruments.

Today, the store welcomed Clara to share her knowledge and techniques of fish scale art.

I’m truly grateful for everyone who chooses to enroll in cultural workshops like this. When you register, you’re not only learning the intricacies, patience, and beauty behind a traditional art form, you’re also directly uplifting the facilitators who carry this knowledge and take the time to share it with others.

Each participant created a beautiful framed piece to take home, and Clara generously donated one of her own creations as a prize for one lucky participant.

So much learning, creating, visiting, and sharing around the table today. Thank you, Clara, and thank you to everyone who continues to show up to learn and support cultural workshops at Métis Matriarch.

I am ECSTATIC to share that Indy City has officially arrived at Métis Matriarch!

And oh my goodness… the earrings. 😍

One of the things I’m most proud of as Métis Matriarch continues to grow is building a space where Indigenous artists and designers are represented, celebrated and properly credited for their work.

It’s also incredibly special knowing that for many of the designers we carry, Métis Matriarch is one of the first places their work is being shared here in Alberta.

I want this little store to continue being a place where you can walk through the doors and discover Indigenous artists and brands from across Turtle Island, some you may already love and others you’re meeting for the very first time.

So excited to officially welcome Indy City to Métis Matriarch. ✨

I just love the way the sun pours into the store and fills this little space with so much warmth.

I really do love my days here. The conversations, the laughter, the visits, the creating, and even the quiet moments in between.

So grateful for every person who walks through the doors and chooses to spend a little bit of their time here. I’ll never take that for granted.

I’m just in awe of the incredibly talented artists who trust me to share their beautiful work and designs in the store.

I received these new beauties from Emily Cardinal, and they are absolutely stunning. Every time new pieces arrive, I’m reminded of just how much talent exists within our communities and how special it is to have these creations filling the store.

It may not look like a lot sitting on the shelves, but there are thousands of dollars worth of ribbon here, and a little behind the scenes reality of stocking it: delivery alone starts at $490 USD. 🫨
