The warm weather presents to the everyday fishermen a unique set of circumstances the weather can be used to our advantage- change up your presentation- go smaller:
Lures- hook size- fish slower- take more time to cover the water-fish early mornings- predatory fish such as walleye , pike will be cruising the shorelines looking for hiding bait fish and pan fish from the night before.
A ton fun can be had fishing pan fish also well in to late morning.
As the day wears away fishing gets back to it.
The predators return to the shoreline once again- game on.
This last week swim jigs 3” to 4” with a w**d less 4/0 worked fantastic!! Or on a jig head 1/4-3/8 oz - 1/0 to a 3/0 fish locked up tight.
Dark coloured bodies with chartreuse tails seemed to be hooking them up well also.
Lures went from spinnerbaits to jerk baits -cranks seemed to grab most fish in the mornings. Most productive colours went from bright to fish patterns: blue gill -perch- silver black minnow - frog and cray fish worked but not quite as productive I’m being told by clients at the shop however this should soon change will keep everyone posted.
Most important is get out there fish often - fish hard- and always have fun!!!
Respect your water it’s a tremendous gift that we have here.
TIGHT LINES.
