A view of the 1940 Santa Claus parade as it meanders down Nanton (50th) Street. The float in the foreground features Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Avery's later became the A-1 Cafe and the Safeway on the west side was the first Safeway store in Alberta and one of the first stores in Lacombe that was owned by a non-resident. It opened on December 9th, 1929. Further up the street is the newspaper office of the former Western Globe. Its inaugural publication as The Lacombe Globe was on April 29th, 1938 after it was purchased from Charles Halpin by the Ford brothers, Harry and Harvey.

Stop in for a three-day holiday market filled with festive vendors, unique gifts, and community cheer. This beloved annual event is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season, discover local treasures, and support those in need.

Entry is “Give as You Can” with 100% of proceeds supporting the Lacombe Food Bank and Echo Food Rescue.
