Welcome to the ArtShelf ... here inside the Lake Country Art Gallery

Did you know about our ArtShelf Book Shop & Reading Room?
Situated inside the gallery, ArtShelf is a not-for-profit bookshop and reading room that specializes in books on art, culture, design, and architecture. Not only is education a reading room priority, but inspiration too; reference materials, collage materials, and image banks will be available for those that are visual in mind and curious in spirit. As a volunteer-driven initiative, it survives and thrives due to book donors and Lake Country Art Gallery members. The books are affordable, and the content amazing. Stop by and stay awhile perusing some of our excellent reading material. Perfect for a chilly winter day!

Meet us at the ArtShelf for a cosy read any day of the week (except Monday). The ArtShelf is situated just inside the Art Gallery, you can grab a hot beverage from the Coffee House next door, before choosing one of thousands of great books about art - then settle into one of our comfortable chairs.

Our collection of art books and journals have all been kindly donated to the Gallery, and includes books of various art techniques; History of Art; Artists A-Z; World Art collections and galleries; Art philosophy and books on working as an artist or related careers.

All of these books are available to browse or buy

We also have a great reference -only library of Art Magazines and Journals, including many now out of print.

I library may be in slight disarray for a little longer while we balance a number of new programs and exhibitions ... but the shelves are still crammed with treasures to delight the keen rummager ... I promise we won't capture you .. much ;)
