The ram is in with the ewes and the does are separated into pens with the bucks for the next 3 weeks. Fingers crossed everyone we are breeding will be bred for March/April. We already have 8 does bred for early winter babies.

I have a doe kid available out of BNH Livestock GMM Novas Nutmeg and Clayson Ridge AI Malachi. She will be 4 weeks old on October 19th. I have attached an udder pictures just before she kidded out. Ignore my son in the background 😅

Please message me if you’re interested.

Nutmeg’s two little doe kids. My kids want to name them Ginger Snap and Pumpkin Spice because they were born in the fall. Notice the rouge goat out of the fenced area in the background. Little brat 🙄

BNH Livestock GMM Novas Nutmeg welcomed two little doe kids on the 19th sired by Clayson Ridge AI Malachi and that ends the year of babies. This was my off season breeding I talked about a few months back. Here’s one of them cuddling with our livestock dog, Queen. 🥰

We brought home a pretty special girl today. ❤️

When her original herd was dispersed, she was sold to someone else, but we recently heard that she was going to be up for sale again and I jumped on the opportunity to bring her home.

I already have her daughter here, so getting the chance to have mom in the herd too was pretty exciting. She classified 88 this year with an EX mammary system, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what she can add back into our program.

Meet Chilako E Tiara, Ruby’s dam. 💗

Let me introduce to you a special buckling that was brought up to us from BC this year although I don’t currently have a picture of him as of yet. Maybe later in the season. 🙂

Stockbridge Caramel Confetto was selected as a herd sire prospect for Prairie Meadow based on the strength of his maternal line, particularly his dam, Stockbridge Star JubeJube EX91. JubeJube is an exceptionally productive doe, ranking #2 in Canada for production and #3 for combined production and type. She milked 6.4kg on her first milk test, easily earning her M star this year. She is noted for her long, productive lactations, with a peak of approximately two gallons per day. In addition to her production, she is an EX appraised doe with the deep body and dairy character we value in our breeding program. JubeJube is sired by Tamris Farm T’s Imperial Star, with Tamris Farm Queen Mara Jade EX91 as his dam. On the maternal side, she is out of Green Goddess Fancy Jasper. (STOCKBRIDGE DAIRY GOATS (https://stockbridgedairygoats.weebly.com/jubejube.html) Confetto was purchased to bring this combination of proven production, exceptional mammary genetics, and dairy strength into the Prairie Meadow herd.

As a young buck, his own contribution to the breed is still ahead of him, but his maternal pedigree gives us considerable reason to be excited about his future as he matures and enters our breeding program. He will be used on some of our older doe kids from this year later in the breeding season.

Not bad for a 5 year spinning hiatus but it could definitely be more consistent. Purebred Polypay yarn and it is beautifully soft. 💗

Stay tuned….😆
