Ansah Co.

Ansah Co. Handwoven baskets, textiles, and handmade goods from underrepresented artisans around the world. Visit us at Langford Station or shop online! Ansah Co.

Thoughtfully sourced, beautifully made, and rooted in community. was created in 2021 by husband and wife duo Eric and Marina Ansah along with Marina’s sister Rhyanna Gathright, with the intention of filling people’s homes with beautiful and sustainable hand-woven goods from the Northern village of Bolgatanga, Ghana. A family-owned and run business, Ansah Co. strongly believes in a system where all

are paid fairly. We work with artisans in Bolgatanga to ensure they receive a fair and living wage. About our Baskets:
Made from Kinkahe straw, also known as Elephant Grass, each Ansah Co. basket is handwoven by the Indigenous Gurune (also known as Frafra) people, from the village of Bolgatanga and surrounding areas. Known as the crafts centre of Northern Ghana, Bolgatanga is world-renowned for producing gorgeous hand-woven goods that are not only beautiful, but strong enough to withstand every-day use. Eric works with Gurune weavers to select colors and styles we know you will love, ensuring not only that you receive the perfect basket, but that the individual who made it is paid directly and fairly.

This tiny space held a lot over 7 months—kids in the shop, quiet afternoons, busy days and constant restocks.

Now the shelves are empty, and we’re ready for the next chapter—and this plot twist might be our favorite yet.

The countdown is on—our shop will be closing on September 21st 💛

As part of our closing sale, our Bolga Trays, Pet Beds, and Wavy Bowls are now 50% off. Each one is handcrafted in Ghana with care and tradition woven into every detail.

Closing a chapter…

After a year and a half as a resident vendor at we’ve made the very difficult decision to close the Ansah Company shop.

We want to be real with you about why:
Running a small business right now is tough - and in response, we need to pivot.

We’ve poured our hearts (and hands!) into making our little shop a space for connection, craft, and community. But the foot traffic and sales in the area just aren’t enough to keep the shop sustainable. And stretching ourselves thin to keep it going simply doesn’t make sense anymore.

💛 While the shop is closing, Ansah Company is not.
We’re still here - dreaming, shifting, and evolving to meet the needs of our families, our customers, our community, and the incredible makers and small businesses we work with.

To send the shop off, we’re having a big Closing Sale!
(Yes, EVERYTHING IN STORE is 10–60% off while they last 👀)

🛍️ Shop in-store until Sept 21
🌐 And yes - we’re still online! Our website and our mission aren’t going anywhere.
📦 Everything is first come, first served - once it’s gone, it’s gone.

We’re so deeply grateful to every one of you who shopped, brought a friend, shared our space, or just stopped by to say hi. The stories, conversations, and connections are the real souvenirs of this shop, and they’ll stay with us forever. 🧡

We’re not done. We’re just shifting.
And we’re so lucky to have you with us on the journey.

With love and gratitude,
The Ansah Co. team ✌🏼✌🏻✌🏾

These four incredible artists are bringing their one-of-a-kind creations to Common Ground Festival this Friday — and trust us, you’re gonna want to say hi.

🌿 Island Papercuts – Jen’s dreamy paper goods and textiles are inspired by the wild beauty of Vancouver Island and made in her cozy home studio.

🧵 Doriel’s Closet – At just 16, Doriel is already a powerhouse designer, creating bold new fashion from upcycled pieces in her garage studio.

🎨 Hot Pink Pottery – Jillian’s colorful, cheeky ceramics are a love letter to feminism, mental health, and saying what you mean (with a little sass).

💅 Neo Nails – A nail tech with 6 years of pro experience, Neo hand-paints and sculpts press-on nail sets that are truly wearable art.

Come through this Friday and celebrate the creatives building community through craft — we can’t wait to see you at Common Ground!
