We’re starting to figure out what comes next.

It’s still early, but it brings together a lot of the things we’ve always loved - local makers, thoughtful spaces, small businesses, good food, and giving people a good excuse to slow down for a bit.

Right now, that looks like getting a tiny home ready on a farm on the Saanich Peninsula.

There are still a lot of moving parts, but it’s starting to come together.

We’ve been quiet here for a while.

The honest answer? We needed a minute.

Since starting Ansah Company, a lot has shifted behind the scenes. We’re both in a very different season now - balancing single-motherhood, work, change, big feelings, practical decisions, and the ongoing question of: okay, what are we building next?

So we paused.

Ansah Company started with Bolga baskets from Ghana, but somewhere along the way it became about so much more than baskets. It became about makers, markets, stories, community, beautiful things made with care, and the people behind them.

That part hasn’t changed.

What’s coming next will look different, but it’s growing from the same roots: supporting local, creating meaningful spaces, sharing stories, and building something with heart.

We’ll be sharing more soon.

This weekend, we’re popping up at the beautiful LOCAL FOLK FAIR: Holiday Market at , and bringing some of our favorite ethically made goods at rare, VERY REDUCED prices.

This tiny space held a lot over 7 months—kids in the shop, quiet afternoons, busy days and constant restocks.

Now the shelves are empty, and we’re ready for the next chapter—and this plot twist might be our favorite yet.

The countdown is on—our shop will be closing on September 21st 💛

As part of our closing sale, our Bolga Trays, Pet Beds, and Wavy Bowls are now 50% off. Each one is handcrafted in Ghana with care and tradition woven into every detail.

It’s bittersweet to say, but we’re in our last month open in person — and we’d love to see you one last time before we move online. 💛

Mondays–Thursdays: Closed
Fridays–Sundays: 10am–3pm

We’re also having an in-store only closing sale all month long - a heartfelt thank you for being part of this chapter and a chance to take home something special.

Closing a chapter…

After a year and a half as a resident vendor at we’ve made the very difficult decision to close the Ansah Company shop.

We want to be real with you about why:
Running a small business right now is tough - and in response, we need to pivot.

We’ve poured our hearts (and hands!) into making our little shop a space for connection, craft, and community. But the foot traffic and sales in the area just aren’t enough to keep the shop sustainable. And stretching ourselves thin to keep it going simply doesn’t make sense anymore.

💛 While the shop is closing, Ansah Company is not.
We’re still here - dreaming, shifting, and evolving to meet the needs of our families, our customers, our community, and the incredible makers and small businesses we work with.

To send the shop off, we’re having a big Closing Sale!
(Yes, EVERYTHING IN STORE is 10–60% off while they last 👀)

🌿 Island Papercuts – Jen’s dreamy paper goods and textiles are inspired by the wild beauty of Vancouver Island and made in her cozy home studio.

🧵 Doriel’s Closet – At just 16, Doriel is already a powerhouse designer, creating bold new fashion from upcycled pieces in her garage studio.

🎨 Hot Pink Pottery – Jillian’s colorful, cheeky ceramics are a love letter to feminism, mental health, and saying what you mean (with a little sass).

A true labour of love, Common Ground Festival will bring together community partners & organizations, local artists and makers, global eats, musicians, and small businesses in a celebration of diversity, culture and what connects us.
