UPDATE — THE BILL HAS BEEN PAID.
Well, apparently Grandma wasn’t needed this time. The son-in-law stepped in. 😂
Last night around 9pm, we got a phone call from the son-in-law of one of the men in the pictures. He said he was shocked when he saw what had happened and offered to e-transfer us the money for the $200 bill. He asked if we would take the pictures down once the bill was paid.
Absolutely. Pay the bill and we’ll take them down. No problem.
A few hours later we got another call asking why the pictures were still there. Well... because we still hadn’t received the e-transfer. 😂 We confirmed the email again and were told that if it didn’t come through, someone would come in today and pay it. Umm ok?
Still no e-transfer.
Today at about 12:45pm, a young man came into Andrea’s, identified himself as the son-in-law of one of the men and paid the bill in full and left a tip for the server! Good show!
He was pretty upset about the whole situation and felt his father-in-law’s reputation had been tarnished. He also said his father-in-law didn’t realize the other guys hadn’t paid the bill.
I’ll leave that part alone. All three did leave separately, one by one, but either way, the bill has now been paid and the pictures are coming down.
And now I really want to thank all of you crime fighters out there. 😂
The shares, comments, cleaned-up pictures, messages, advice and people getting the word out were unbelievable. You guys made these fellas pretty damn famous in a very short period of time.
It reminds me of when we were kids and did something stupid. Your parents found out, marched you right back into the business, made you face the person, apologize and make it right.
That was the kind of parenting many of us grew up with — respect, accountability and consequences. It helped make us who we are today, and I think that’s exactly why so many of you are here standing up for what’s right.
We got the “make it right” part. We’re probably about 60% of the way there on the rest. 😂
But seriously, without such an amazing community behind us, I don’t think situations like this get resolved nearly as often as they do.

The bill is paid. The pictures are down.

Well, here we go again.
And after what happened with our last dine-and-dash, I somehow don’t think these guys’ grandmas are going to come down and make them pay their bill. 😂
These three guys came into Andrea’s, ate a ton of food, ran up a bill of about $200 and then walked out without paying.
Their little trick was ordering dessert. They told us they were going to eat their dessert and would pay in a few minutes. Then, one by one, they got up and left.
This s**t is happening more and more, and I really don’t understand what’s happened to people.
You go into a restaurant, you order food, people cook it for you, serve you and clean up after you — you pay your damn bill. Pretty simple.
Whatever happened to having some respect? Respect for the people working, respect for somebody’s business, or just enough respect for yourself not to pull s**t like this.
So, a heads-up to all my friends in the restaurant business, owners, managers and servers around Langley — keep an eye out for these guys.
And if anyone does know their grandmas... maybe give them a call. 😂
