We are SOOO excited about this one because this year the Block50 Pet Fair gets to represent the reptile and amphibian world too!!
Please welcome Edmonton Reptile Rehab & Rescue as one of our attending rescues!
The wonderful Michelle Weldon, owner and manager of the rescue, does an amazing job advocating for these often misunderstood little (and sometimes not-so-little 😂) creatures. We are thrilled to have her team joining us to share their knowledge, introduce you to this fascinating world and help people learn more about responsible reptile and amphibian care.
And YES... there will be some special scaly friends there that you can actually meet face-to-face!
They'll also have some goodies available for sale, lots of information and plenty of opportunities to ask questions. So whether you're already a reptile lover or you're normally the person saying “NOPE, absolutely not!” from across the room 😂, come in and learn a little more about these incredible animals. You might be surprised by who steals your heart!
**IMPORTANT — THEY'RE INSIDE!**
Edmonton Reptile Rehab & Rescue will be set up INDOORS in the office building on site**, where they'll have access to power for their heat lamps and can keep their animal ambassadors comfortable and safe.
So please make sure you don't miss them while you're exploring the Pet Fair!

🐾❤️ OFFICIAL RESCUE HIGHLIGHT: BARC’S RESCUE! ❤️🐾
We are SO excited to welcome BARC's Rescue to the Block50 Pet Fair this year! And yes… the sweet faces in these photos are **currently looking for homes through BARC’s**. So consider this your warning before you start scrolling. 😂
BARC’s is a volunteer-based registered charity that has been giving dogs what they call **“the most important ride of their life”** since 2012. They work with shelters to transport dogs from difficult and sometimes life-threatening situations into foster care and loving homes in Alberta and eastern B.C. To date, they’ve transported **close to 2,500 dogs** across North America and internationally!
They also have connections right here in both the **Calgary and Edmonton areas**, including foster homes, veterinary partners and donation locations. Their foster families give incoming dogs somewhere safe to decompress, learn, be loved and show off their real personalities while BARC’s works to find the right forever home. ❤️
And LOOK AT THESE CUTIES. 😍
The dogs pictured in this post are some of the adoptable sweethearts featured through BARC’s. If somebody catches your eye, head over to their website and read their profile - because I take absolutely NO responsibility if you suddenly decide your couch has room for one more. 😂 Their current adoption page has lots of dogs looking for homes, as well as dogs still needing foster families.

🐾❤️ RESCUE at the Pet Fair: HARBOR’S SAFE HAVEN! ❤️🐾
We are SO excited to welcome **Harbor’s Safe Haven**, a brand-new animal rescue, to the Block50 Pet Fair as one of our attending rescues!
Starting a new rescue takes a whole lot of heart, hard work, volunteers, fundraising and probably more than a few sleepless nights - so we are especially excited to give Harbor’s Safe Haven a place at the Pet Fair to introduce themselves to our community, share what they’re building and get some support behind this new rescue!
And they are definitely not showing up empty-handed... they have LOTS happening at their booth!

🐾❤️ OFFICIAL RESCUE HIGHLIGHT: NASAP!
We are SO happy to welcome the **Northern Alberta Society for Animal Protection (NASAP)** as one of our official rescues attending the Block50 Pet Fair!
NASAP has been helping homeless and unwanted animals in the Edmonton and Northern Alberta area for more than 25 years. They are a **foster-based rescue**, which means their animals get to live in real homes with wonderful foster families while they wait for their forever people to find them.
And these guys do SO much. Animals in their care receive the medical treatment, vaccinations, training and socialization they need, while NASAP also works to tackle pet overpopulation through spay/neuter education and their TNR program for feral cats. They advocate for force-free training too - something we LOVE to see. ❤️
But let's be honest... you're probably going to come to their booth, look into one adorable little face and suddenly start saying things like:
*"Wellllll... we DO have room for another one."* 😂
NASAP currently has both cats and dogs looking for their forever families, so definitely check out their adoptable animals!
