Studio tour - day 2 is about to begin. Yesterday had an amazing turnout, and my table is looking a little thin, but that's a good problem to have 😊

I had a tree started already, so I will be working on that throughout the day.

10 - 4 today, and you can find me at Jordan Woodturning, and many other amazing vendors on the tour.

Had a great time at the Lion's Head Market - Spring Market. It was nice to get out and see so many people and just enjoy the day.

Here is one of the trees that was sold in its new home. Quite grateful that it has such a prominent place on the mantle.

4 new Tamarac wire trees that will be available at the Lion's Head Spring Market on Sunday Apr 19th. These trees were made from reclaimed television wire, and the roots are attached to some beautiful local limestone.

I started using more wire last year on this style of tree, and I am happy with how full they look.

This style of tree takes longer than most of the trees I make, and the extra wire definitely adds time, but it's so worth it when they turn out like this.

It's official, I finally have some stone bases cut. Winter gave us a break to find and prepare these beauties. And I took full advantage by getting more than I needed ready. Better to do more when you have all the tools out. And of course, once I finished it started to snow πŸ˜‚

Today was cutting the stones so they have a flat base, then grinding away the surface so that the adhesive can adhere securely.

Next I will be attaching the trees I have ready for the spring market. Stay tuned for some new pieces, and one unique style I haven't done before.

Looking forward to participating in my first spring market with the Lion's Head Farmers Market. The date is coming up quick, I need to get out of this winter mode and get busy.

This appeared in my timeline memories recently. It was one of the first trees I ever made. None of the wire was long enough, so it's all little pieces twisted together. Different gauges, different coatings, all from random electronic circuit boards.

And no roots, I just drilled a hole into a stone and glued it in place.

I don't have any of the first pieces any longer. But they used to be in my garage, and it's the first and last thing I would see walking in and out. Good to remind yourself how things have changed over the years. Sometimes we look too closely and don't notice the change happening, because we are living it.

Thank you for a great market. Sunday's snow added to the adventure, but it looked so beautiful.

We hope you enjoyed yourself and had a lovely day out (or two for those who came back on Sunday!). Thank you also for your donation of a non-perishable food item which has already been delivered to the Lion's Head and District Food Bank.
Lion's Head Farmers' Market Gift Certificates are available for purchase and make great Christmas gifts as they are redeemable at all our vendors. Connect via FB messenger to arrange to purchase one for Christmas or if you need one before we reopen in May at the beach. Again, thank you for your support of our local Market. ❀
