I’m loving that In between right now where I have pool hair and bags of school supplies ready to go.
I was so excited to see how many new USBORNE books I purchased this summer ( and got for free 🎉🎉🎉🎉!) I will be taking with me as they are amazing resources !
Like actually guys!

Just had to post when I realized hey, these books really are that good and I actually really can’t wait to use them with my kiddos this year lol

Not every child/tween thinks to themselves - hey I have a couple minutes why don’t I read a book?!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This isn’t a magic formula - but I thought I would share a few tips and tricks to help make reading less of a chore or like school work and more fun and engaging !!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📚merge books with movies - tons of movies are based on books or have been made into books so kids already can have connection with the story line !
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📚 Get graphic! So many amazing graphic novels that have a good story line and the images are super engaging.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📚 Let them listen 🎧 . I love reading books but sometimes I love sitting back and just listening to a book too . Try and see if that is something that sparks their interest.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📚 Keep reading material around. Whether it’s a library in the house or their room or reading material in the bathroom- nothing wrong with ‘micro-reading’
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📚 Don’t forget non-fiction! Kids love finding out the why and how to all topics! Non-fiction that is fun and engaging and written in a way that your child can understand is one that they will come back to again and again.

📚 Model reading ! Read at home where your kid can see you and/ or talk about what you did read in an article / book etc
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📚 Give the gift of reading! Give a gift card to buy books and let your child discover a book for themselves
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Again these aren’t full proof- but I know many kids in this age group who didn’t want to read and then discovered something that sparked their interest and they were hooked!

Ok so I’m soooo excited about this week.
I love all the books USBORNE has for kids in primary grades !
So. Many. Choices. !
Seriously , all reading levels and interest levels covered to make reading and learning FUN!!

Singing or saying words that rhyme is just fun (and kind of a sneaky way of getting some great learning in!)

We would okay a rhyme game when doing anything- driving/chores/ we still do lol!

Also I will try to showcase various books in carousels this week to let you see more options !

Wipe and Clean books 📚

I am such a huge fan of these books for kids (and they have more resources for students up to grade 5!)🎉🎉

These books for early years are fun, the dry erase marker makes the learning easy and fun ! 🖊

Kids are often more interested in writing activities when they know they can erase the work easily.📝

Kids worried of making a mistake are much more likely to enjoy activities when they know they can just erase the work. ✏️

As a teacher I love my summer holidays - but I also love getting those new school supplies for the new year! ✏️📚

A really important part of that- especially this year (that whole at home learning while balancing work and all the things!) is providing exciting and easy to use resources that also help early year students fill the learning gap.

That pre kindergarten and early years age group is just so so fun!
Exploring, getting into everything, being curious and adventurous, tea parties, superhero’s, everything seems magical and fantastic.
What a perfect time to dive further into stories !
