Well this could be a long read with an unbelievable and completely mind boggling ending.
Deb of SCM was heartbroken on June 18th 2026 when the diamond in her engagement ring had fallen out at some point in the first hour when arriving at Grand Bend Motorplex for the 2nd round of the SOAR series. Many amazing people searched for hours, sweeping random areas, using flashlights to try and catch a glint, and just walking around staring at the ground. All the admirable effort ultimately resulted in nothing being found unfortunately and Deb remained very very distraught for weeks after. Every time she came to the track she tried to park in the same place, set up and search around with predictable results.
Becoming resigned to having lost it forever we had talked about looking for a new diamond for her ring through different jewelers or finding another ring with a similar diamond and have it transplanted into hers. After shopping around and being disappointed with what would work and of course the cost, her search stalled and she just kept wearing the ring with an empty setting.
Nearly 2 months later on Aug 15th, the owner of SOAR Ken Soar thought he had found what Deb had been missing and believed he was coming to reunite Deb with her lost jewelry. Sadly it was a ring that wasn't hers but someone else's lost ring. The owner has yet to be found but Ken is still trying.
More disappointment....
Races continued at SOAR until a terrible incident happened where a racer dove off the track and into an RV (that should never have been allowed to be there). A horrible accident that had everyone agape. Rescue crews, staff and EMTs all rushed to the scene of the crash and delivered aid and got the rider to the hospital expediently.
During cleanup one such staff looked down and saw something in a crack in the pavement. As he recalls later he thought "ohhh shiny!". He knelt down and picked up the pretty and very dirty rock and put it in his pocket. He did still have much to do yet at the accident area.
Later Ken was telling this member of the SOAR staff, Ewan Brown, how disappointed he was that the ring he found wasn't Deb's. Ewan remembered what he had found and said "check out what I found during the crash cleanup". He pulls out the shiny rock and asks ken if maybe he should take it to a jeweler to find out what it is. Welllllll, doesn't Ken just point at the rock and say "I know who's that is". So Ewan takes a quick walk over to see Deb.
4 girls including Deb started screaming with glee. 58 days, almost a kilometer from where it was lost, at a crash site no one has ever crashed at before, in a crack no one should ever have looked, at a racetrack that sees thousands and thousands of visitors, covered with dirt, Deb's diamond had been found and returned.
TLDR : a diamond was lost which seemed gone forever. Nearly 2 months later and a kilometer away it was found. What should have never happened has. What is statistically impossible occurred. Miracles don't exist, but this comes close
