Well, we had a great moment today in the shop. Months ago, we were gifted an antique pen set...little marble slab with the stand for the fountain pen with a little engraved plaque on it from 1956...we figured it was someone's retirement gift or something, and didn't think any more of it.

Fast forward a couple of months and Monica, assistant manager and all star sleuth, decides to search out the name. Hugh Barrette. Turns out to be the son of former slaves, who apparently was the architect of Ontario's first civil rights/anti discrimination legislation. Barrette hailed from the Dresden area.

So, after a few phone calls and emails, these gentlemen, Stefan and Steven from the Dresden Historical Society (Dresden Cares) came to our store to collect the item to be donated to a museum.

Its a good day at RENEW!

Hello all you groovy cats. Just sending a summer shout out to everyone to let ypu all know that we are having a summer clothing sale. Everything from mens/women fashions, suits, bathing suits, pants, skirts, yoga pants and sweats are all priced to sell at 2.00 each.

Time to pick up some new duds. Come on down and see! (the AC in here is really nice!)

Sale goes on all summer, and excludes our vintage/individually priced rack.

Howdy folks. Well spring seems to WANT to try and spring on us. Not sure if its gonna be successful or not but we've got some stuff to warm up the baseball people anyway. Pics are of a raft of baseball hardbacks that just came in, as well as a box of magazines about baseball cards...I had no idea there was such a thing back then, but most of these are from the 70s and 80s. Let us know if you want them. We'll make you a fair deal.

Hardcovers, as always, are 1 dollar each at the RENEW Store!

Hello all!

We've been ovverrun with donations from after-Christmas cleanouts, and have a dearth of kitchen items, nickknacks, dishware etc. So we're having a basket sale...if it fits in one of our carry baskets, then you can have it for 50 percent off.

So come one out and fill some baskets! As it stands, the sale is on till day's end on Saturday. Come on down and see!

Yeah...we're not that kind of boss. In the interest of keeping our volunteers safe, we're calling a snow day today. We'll be back at it tomorrow!

Well the season is drawing to a close. We're partway through our Christmas Eve Open house...its not too late to come down and sample some goodies, coffee...warm mulled apple cider...smells good in here!

We want to extend our thanks to all of you, both volunteers past and present, and all of our customers past and present as well. You've all made RENEW into a true community - a community that comes together, helps one another, loves one another...and helps us raise some money for the London Christian Elementary School too. We're "the little thrift store that could" and we're proud to be a neighborhood touchstone in the Argyle area.

So, tonight its over to Good News Church next door at 4 for Christmas Eve Dinner..all are invited! Then candlelight service at 7, again all invited...then home to all our families. And that's where we hope you get to spend your Christmas.

From all of us, to all of you: We hope you get to spend this important time with those you hold dearest. We celebrate the moment the Christ child is born unto the world, and forever changed everything.

And for those who celebrate different traditions, we wish you all the joyous moments of the season too.

Chairs Chairs Chairs....might as well call me the chairman of the board. We have 2 sets of 6, 2 sets of 4, a set of 3, and assorted singles. We also just got in a nice wingback type easy chair too.

Having too many people over for Christmas....don't fear...because we have chairs!

Hello all! Well we've been busy little elves for the past few weeks. Thank you all for coming out and getting your Christmas supplies from us. The London Christian Elementary School thanks you for all your support over the past year!

The season is drawing to a close for now...but the good news is that we've still got lots of Christmas nicknacks and decorations left. We have a tree, we have stockings, we have decorations....and if you happened to be looking for Norman Rockwell Christmas collector plates, we have a raft of those too.

Everything is marked down ...we're practically giving this stuff away at this point. most items are a buck or less. Come on down and see!

And don't forget to join us for a Christmas Eve drop in / open house between 10 and 3 on Christmas Eve. There'll be treats, warm drinks, candy canes and Christmas music. We just want to connect with our community that day, so we hope we will see you!
