After years of searching through antique shops, auction houses and many dusty corners across the world, we decided to sell some of our treasures and continue to hunt for more! Hopefully most of us are done with the final Christmas preparations and can put our feet up with a sigh of relief and stare at the tree for a few peaceful moments, lol.

Twelve days of Christmas - Day 11 - Deck the Halls with boughs, garlands and anything else Mother Nature has grown.

My favourite holiday decor is always garlands of green draped over mantles, windows and doors...or anywhere else! The pagan in me is always delighted to find a little bit of the outside brought inside to celebrate Yule.

Twelve days of Christmas - Day 10 - Candlelit Christmas

Adding candles is the simplest way to add warmth and ambiance to a holiday table setting and decor. The flickering light reflecting off crystal and porcelain adds a touch of magic to a meal.

Memory Lane Antique Mall has dozens of options for adding candlelight to your holiday table.

(For safety, never leave unattended. And for an even safer option, check out the many faux flame candles on the market today. Some of them are just amazingly realistic, worry-free options.)

Twelve days of Christmas - Day 9 - Wrap it Again & Again -Beautiful ways to wrap gifts that are reusable and recyclable!

A couple of years ago, I stopped buying wrapping paper and started using the kraft paper I use for packing and shipping fragile items in the shop. I just add pretty ribbons and trim to make things festive. Unlike traditional wrapping paper, kraft paper is completely recyclable in our town.

The other change I made is to use fabric bags and squares as wrap. I have been accumulating velvet and holiday patterns that we are using year after year. For those who don't sew, there are many options available on Etsy and even a pretty scarf works as a year-round wrapping option (I find inexpensive ones at thrift shops and auctions).

Twelve days of Christmas - Day 8 - White & Gold - A timeless and versatile choice to tableware.

I admit to having a weakness for a gilt edge or detail to antique porcelain and china. These versatile pieces work anytime of year, but really shine on a holiday table.

We have lots of antique white & gold French and English porcelain filling The Old Curio Cabinet Studio shelves. Happy to set up an appointment for any other porcelain addicts who would like to visit our studio ;)
