We're proud sponsors of the Huron County Sodbusters, and this September a big group of their members are competing at the International Plowing Match in Bruce County from September 22nd to 26th.

The IPM has been close to the Townsend family since the 80s: George has coached extensively, Matt and Lucas have both competed (with Lucas finishing 2nd nationally), and both George and Matt have served as chairpersons for the IPM RV park over the years.

Most of you know Matt. He’s around a little bit more than George now. But after 30+ years George deserves a bit of time off. The whole thing started more than 31 years ago when George and Matt co-founded M.G.M. Townsend Tire in 1995 working from a one bay shop inside an old chicken barn. Thirty + years later the place looks a little different, but the same people are still around.

George isn't full-time anymore but you'll still catch him stopping by, doing the odd delivery or pickup, or just visiting old friends. Some things don't change. Thanks for everything, George.
