The 2026 Hunter Crests.

For everyone who hunted with us this spring and punched their bear tag—congratulations. The hunt may be over, but there’s still one more thing to look forward to.

In about six months, the MNR will mail you your official 2026 bear crest, along with the estimated age of your bear. It’s a great reminder of the hunt and another piece of the story behind the animal you worked hard to harvest.

When yours shows up, we’d love to see it—post a photo in the comments and let us know how old your bear was!

Every year, I receive phone calls and messages from hunters asking about the hunts we offer. Almost every conversation includes stories about previous outfitted hunts that turned into disappointments—whether it was poor accommodations, broken promises, or simply not getting the experience they paid for.

As another spring season comes to an end, we’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who joined us at Wild North Outfitters.

Over the course of our 3-week season, we had the pleasure of hosting 26 hunters from near and far. Like every season, Mother Nature kept us on our toes and presented a few challenges, but thanks to patience, persistence, and a lot of hard work, 20 of our 26 guests were able to fill their tags.

Success is always rewarding, but what means the most to us are the memories made, the stories shared around camp, and the new friendships that were formed along the way. Those are the moments that make every season special.

We’d also like to extend a sincere thank you to Tina, Charlotte, Jim, and Ricky. Your hard work, dedication, and hospitality helped make every guest’s experience one to remember. Whether behind the scenes or out in the field, your commitment to making everyone feel welcome and ensuring they had a great hunt did not go unnoticed. I couldn’t do it without you.

A huge thank you to all of our guests for trusting us with your hunt, and to everyone who helped make this season a success. We truly appreciate your support.

Now it’s time for a short break before the work begins again. In just 5 weeks, we’ll be back in the woods preparing for the fall season, and we can’t wait to do it all over again.

I'm not sure if many of you know what is going on but changes will be coming to the black bear management plan in Ontario. Myself and other outfitters have been part of the meetings behind the scenes over the last year with the MNR. Check it out and send in a comment!

We are seeking feedback on draft Black Bear Population Objective Setting and Harvest Management Guidelines and preliminary population objective ranges. We are also proposing regulatory amendments to extend protections for cubs and females accompanied by cubs to the fall hunting season and to clarify...

Good evening everyone! It's been a while since I posted last and it's been a busy time. We ran a moose hunt, deer hunt and then I spent some in the states deer hunting and I will be getting back into the swing of it in the weeks to come.

In the meantime, a couple weeks ago I sent out a couple texts to people that hunted with us in the past and asked if they could leave a google review. Thank you to the people that did! I am in the process of having my website brought into the 2026s, more user friendly, rank higher in the search results and just make it look more professional.
